My mom on the other hand is a doctor. She absolutely adores her job.
"Khalel, you know I love you right?" I asked my dad
"I do" he replied
"what can I do without you?" I continued
"nothing" was his confident reply.
"absolutely nothing" I concluded, hugging him. My dad always gives in to me which my mom hates by the way.
"I love you, old man" I told him
"I love you too cupcake" he said.
"mom what's for dinner? we're starving". I turned to my mom
"you and your dad, always looking for food" she said shaking her head.
"I've ordered pizza, it will be here soon. Emery, take your things to your room and make sure you freshen up before you come down." She said
"okeydokey" I replied.
I took my suitcase and took the lift to the top floor and started unpacking. Within an hour I was done.
My closet is half full, I need to go shopping. I then took my shower and came down refreshed.
"mom when are going shopping?" I asked
"tomorrow dear" she answered.
"okay" I responded.
"oh…. And the pizza, where is mine?" I asked.
"here" she pointed to the coffee table beside her.
"Emery, after the shopping, you will get enrolled in a school nearby" she continued.
"so soon? I thought I'd stay home for a week" I complained.
"Emery" she insisted.
"fine I'll go" I relented.
"I'm going to bed, goodnight" I said taking the pizza with me.
"goodnight dear" my dad said after me.
Next Day,
By the time my parents came down, I had already prepared breakfast. Bacon with scrambled egg and freshly brewed coffee.
"good morning mom, dad" I greeted
"good morning Emery, how was your sleep?" mom asked
"good, yours? I questioned.
"nice" she said.
Both mom and dad went ahead to get their food.
"mom hurry, we have shopping and then school registration" I said, urging her. She likes to eat slowly.
"oh, now I know why you're up so early" she said.
She finished her breakfast and we left with dad, our designated driver.
We shopped for hours nonstop. Even I got tired at a point.
"Mom I'm tired" I complained.
"okay, we'll stop for today" she finally said.
"khalel, please come help us with our bags" mom called dad on the phone.
"okay, hurry" she continued
"hey" he said when he got to us.
"wow, did you buy everything in here?"
"I wish we could" I said.
"dad, please help me"
"okay, give me some of your bags"
"damn Emery, they're heavy, we need a trolley for this" he said going to search for one.
"here, put your bags in it" he told us.
After putting our bags in the trolley, mom and I started making our way to the car whiles dad struggled with the trolley behimd.
"khalel hurry" mom urged him.
"I'm coming" was his muffled reply
I couldn't help giggling. As much as my dad is rich, he isn't much of a weightlifter.
He spends almost all his time behind a desk, making calls, going through meetings and documents.
That's literally all he does but somehow it takes up all his time.
Mom and I got settled in the car waiting for dad and trust me he took his sweet time in coming.
Now what I've been dreading the most came.
National High school came into view.
I won't deny that the school is beautiful with royal blue and gold as it's prominent color.
The school have no dress code, so you can wear anything you want.
Some girls have their skirts so high up that you can even catch a glimpse of their underwear.
"I think I'm gonna like this school" I said to dad.
"I'm sure you would, I chose it after all ". he said back. I smiled at him appreciation.
My dad knows me well. I'm not an introvert but an unfortunate circumstance made me one and I need to get out of my shell.
"hi, where is the headmaster's office?" dad asked a student who is passing by.
Go straight down the hall, take a left and then a right. You'll find his secretary there.
"thanks" I said to him.
"I'm Emery by the way" I introduced myself.
"Nathan"
"nice to meet you Nathan"
"you too Emery, catch you later" he said running to the bathroom I think.
"what?" I asked my parents when I caught them staring at me weirdly.
"what was that?" dad asked.
"might as well start making friends since I'll be coming here" I said with a sigh.
We followed Nathan's directions and ended up in front of Britney, as her name tag says.
"hi, good afternoon, we are here to see the principal" I informed her
"he's in a meeting", she said rudely
"excuse you" I said to her. She just rolled her eyes at me.
"I said I'll see you later" we heard coming from the principal's office.
Then the door was opened by a very angry looking boy.
"what happened?" Britney asked trying to look cute with her fake face.
"leave me alone Britney" he literally barks at her.
When he was passing, I couldn't stop looking at him, damn the guy is hot. Like freaking, smoking hot.
"the principal is free now" Britney said to us, trying to cover up her embarrassment.
Dad did all the talking when we entered.
