Once upon a time, there was a world called Separatum. A 'slightly' different world from the human world. Beneath their humanlike form, supernatural powers ran through their blood, making a single person from Separatum comparable to a hundred trained human soldiers. Surely, if that one person from Separatum knew how to use his powers optimally.
Separatum was guarded and controlled by two great kingdoms, namely Alba Caelum and Regnum Tenebris. The characteristics of these two kingdoms are not much different from the symbols of Yin and Yang, which mean black and white.
Alba Caelum was a kingdom that has obedience without the slightest doubt to God. Its people will fight to the death for Him and His heavens.
White, gold, and maroon are the royal color symbols of Alba Caelum. Residents of this kingdom commonly have bright hair colors such as hazel, light brown, silver, and blonde. Their irises were also bright. Some were as blue as the noon sky in winter, as red as cherry blossoms in spring, as green as freshly grown leaves, as brown as maple leaves in autumn, and as golden as beach sand in summer.
Regnum Tenebris considered the people of Alba Caelum to be too naïve on God's help and His orders to safeguard all that is good, including peace. Therefore, the people of Regnum Tenebris did not depend on God's help and His mercy.
The colors of clothing and buildings that dominated Regnum Tenebris were black, blood red, dark purple, dark blue, brown, and maroon. Their hair color was mostly black, brownish red, dark blue, dark purple. Their irises were very dark. Some of its people were silver-haired, but they rarely showed themselves in the capital.
Alba Caelum only has constructive powers, while Regnum Tenebris has destructive powers. The conflict that resulted in wars occurred after the first queen of Alba Caelum died at the hands of the first king of Regnum Tenebris. Ironically, they had fallen in love with each other, even planning to combine the power of the two kingdoms.
For ten centuries, the war between Alba Caelum and Regnum Tenebris rocked Separatum. Then, at some point, there was a truce of its own accord, despite the creation of an icy mist between the two kingdoms.
One day, King Heron and Queen Hermia of Regnum Tenebris were gifted a son, named Rey Alucio—a prince who has pale skin, jet black hair, and dark purple irises. He was the tenth generation prince of Regnum Tenebris and the only heir to the throne.
After three years, all the people of Alba Caelum welcomed the joyful news; the birth of the heir to the throne named Araina Autumn, daughter of Queen Adara and King Matthew—the tenth generation leaders of Alba Caelum.
The princess was born beautiful with light blue irises. However, what surprised everyone was her black hair. Rumors abounded about the truth of God's incarnation with mixed powers.
When Rey grew into a teenager, it was his first encounter with someone from the enemy kingdom after all this time being busy with his training as the successor to the throne and not having time to peek at the situation outside the kingdom directly.
"Damn it!" Rey cursed as he was hanging by one hand at the edge of a deep abyss. He looked up when he heard footsteps from above. "Somebody help me!" he shouted.
Then Rey saw a girl coming, wearing a white hooded robe. Her hair was black, her eyes were light blue, and the dress she wore was predominantly white and maroon. The girl looked surprised.
"Prince of Regnum Tenebris?!"
"Yes, it's me! If you still want your head where it belongs, then help me out of here!"
The girl then reached out her hand to Rey, so he managed to climb up while holding on to her hand.
"You're so slow! Do you want to be beheaded?!" Rey grunted.
Then, the white-robed girl opened the hood of her robes in annoyance because Rey's words offended her. Rey was stunned when he saw the girl's face. Her light blue eyes were the most beautiful thing Rey has ever seen.
"Do as you please. You always do it to people who help you or not, anyway," the girl spoke nonchalantly as she climbed onto her white horse.
"Hey!" Rey called while holding the horse's rope that the girl was holding so the horse wouldn't move. The girl got off her horse and looked at Rey, displeased.
"You'd better go back to your palace, Your Highness. They'll kill me if I get caught meeting you," the girl said before getting back on her horse.
"What's your name? You even knew me before I knew you," Rey asked in a low voice.
The girl fell silent for a moment. "My name is Araina Autumn. And I am the sole heir to Alba Caelum's throne, Prince Rey," she answered with a flat expression, then left Rey, who still frozen.
"I wish we could talk again, Princess Araina," Rey muttered with a slight smile.
His wish has indeed come true. But alas, the meaning of the meeting was no longer a joy once they had grown up. Precisely once they understood why the two kingdoms could never make peace.
The roar of soldiers, the clatter of horses' hooves, and a loud thud sounded repeatedly in a barren meadow. Explosions' smoke formed a mist that made it difficult for one by one to distinguish between enemy and friend.
Amid the chaos, two people in the opposite color of armor fought each other using their swords and supernatural powers. One was a man with black hair and dark purple eyes, the other was a woman with black hair and light blue eyes.
"If you had obeyed me, I wouldn't have to declare war on your kingdom!" shouted the man.
"I will not obey the one who doesn't want to obey God!" said the woman, holding back the man's sword which its owner swung at her face.
"You know what? You're too naïve to fate and its creator, Araina," said the man, smiling cynically.
The blue-eyed woman clenched her jaw. "My people and I have a responsibility to fight your sins! You are no exception, Rey!" she growled.
Araina then used her fire element to attack Rey. However, Rey created a glowing purple shield—like his eyes.
"You might be great, but I'm smarter in using my power, even though I'm not the owner of mixed powers," said Rey, who was already beside Araina, with his sword ready to be swung at Araina's neck.
"Your Highness!" shouted the warrior general of Alba Caelum. Araina dodged just as Rey's sword was about to graze her neck. Reflexively, Araina touched her neck, swallowing her saliva.
"You can't keep running away from the matter, Araina, that you are an incarnation of a mixed-power God who will die at my hands!" Rey snapped as he aimed his purple flame power towards Araina. But Araina immediately extinguished it with her water power.
"I don't understand... Why do you want to kill me so much, Rey?"
Hearing Araina's snide question, Rey raised his sword, causing Araina to look up at the sky. The sky darkened. The abundance of purple lightning seemed to crack the sky. Then, a kind of jet-black portal appeared.
Araina ran as fast as she could, but suddenly her surroundings became pitch black. She glared at the sight of her feet now resting on the darkness. Instantly she regretted having wasted her chance to defeat Rey.
Araina looked around and could immediately tell she was trapped in the dimension Rey created. Her eyes kept looking for a way out. Nothing she could find but the boundless darkness. She stepped forward while sensing the air with her palms.
There was no sound, not even footsteps. Araina let out her breath. Then she stopped walking when she saw Rey in front of her. He looked at her expressionlessly.
Araina dropped her sword. Realizing she was trapped in a dimensional space with Rey made her uneasy. Rey's icy gaze directed at her. The woman was about to run, but her legs seemed to be firmly tied to the darkness she stepped on as the image from the past flashed in front of her eyes.
Meanwhile, Rey picked up Araina's fallen sword. With two swords in his hands, Rey walked towards Araina, who was still motionless with a blank stare—hypnotized by the flashbacks of her past.
Suddenly, Rey embraced Araina, who was still unblinking at her past, unaware that she was in danger.
"Araina," Rey called a little coldly. He then remembered the memories of his childhood with Araina.
"You will never feel peace, even after you die by my hands right now," Rey whispered, preparing to stab Araina's sword into the owner's back.
However, Rey stopped when suddenly a bright amber light appeared from his right side. In less than a second, the dimensional space shattered into pieces, and Rey was thrown away with his sword.
Even though he was in pain for a while from falling so hard, Rey rushed to his feet as soon as she saw Araina run away while turning her sword into a white light which vanished then.
Araina looked back when she was near the edge of the cliff. He saw Rey running after her and directing black magic at her. Without a second thought, Araina dodged by jumping down the cliff.
The general who saw it was stunned. However, the princess considered the moment a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for her to save herself from Rey. She thrust her palms forward, creating a white portal that instantly engulfed her and disappeared after that.
Rey reached the edge of the cliff and looked down, but eventually found nothing. His hand gripped the sword tightly until it shattered into pieces.
The king, who lost his major enemy, growled furiously. He vowed to pursue and capture the sole heir to the Alba Caelum wherever she would be.
