She stood in the cold balcony for a very long time waiting for her father.
"Maya, sweetie, I don't want you to be getting sick too. Please come inside and have your soup." The lady looked at Maya in a disapproving manner.
Maya seemed to be in some sort of trance and did not budge even a single inch. "Mother, daddy should not have left. He will not return now."
"What nonsense are you talking Maya? Your stories are getting too much for mother. Now come inside!" The lade rebuked Maya in much anger, pulling her inside the room. "Go to the kitchen and have your soup."
"Yes mother." Maya nodded her head and climbed down the wooden stairs, heading staright towards an open kitchen, situated in the corner of a tiny yet cozy living room. In a large covered vessel was placed hot boiling soup, and Maya slowly opened the vessel, pouring herself some hot soup. She had just poured one spoon in a tiny bowl, when suddenly a man's shreiks filled the entire forest.
"Arghhhhhh!!!!!"
"Arhhhhhhhhh!!!!"
Maya dropped her bowl, making it to crash everywhere. She had heard the similar shreiks in her dream and she knew it was none other than her father. "Momma! Momma! It is daddy! He being eaten by the beast! Mommaa!!!"
"Oh goodness!" The lady came rushing down the stairs after hearing the shreiks. She rushed down- stairs in such panic, that she stumbled twice almost tripping down wards. "Stay here Maya, I will be back soon."
"Arghhhhh!!"
"Arghhhhhhhh!!"
More shreiks emerged from the woods scaring the two of them to the core. "But, how can I stay here momma? Only I know where daddy's head is. I told you to not let daddy go as he will be eaten by a monster. Now go and collect his head, which has fallen near that oak tree." She spoke innocently, making her mother to halt.
"What rubbish are you speaking. Your dad is fine, stop spitting nonesense." The old lady shreiked at her daughter, after getting terrified of what Maya spoke.
Nevertheless, she rushed out of the house, while Maya stayed behind as per her mother's instructions. Maya walked about in the house, as tears fell down from her eyes. She knew already what her mother was not believing that her father was dead.
30 minutes later...
Suddenly the door of the living room opened and a pale faced lady, with blood stained clothes entered the living room, looking extremely drenched and upset. She looked like she was in an extreme shock, and had been crying her eyes out. "Maya? How did you know where father's head was?" She looked angrily at Maya, as if Maya had killed her own father.
"I saw... it.. it in my dream." Maya looked at her mother in much sadness and shock. She looked no less than a pale ghost herself.
"What sort of sorcery do you do? How can you kill your own father??!!" The lady planted a tight slap on Maya's cheek looking at her in much infuriation.
"SLAAPPP!!"
Maya was thrown on the ground, as ger legs hit hard on the wooden floor. "I .. did not kill daddy... I saw it in my dream...." Mays shreiked and sobbed into trars.
"I have just found your father's head near that oak tree and have burried him in our garden. Tell me, how did you know this?" The lady once again walked upto Maya. She looked like she had lost her mental balance after looking at her husband's dead body's remains.
Suddenly a faint voice appeared from near the stairs and a weak lookimg Zara was hearing everything, while standing on the stairs. "Daddy is dead?" Tears ran down the girl's eye as she looked at ger mother.
The lady rushed towards Zara as if trying to protect her from Maya. "Sweetie, let me talk to Maya. You go upstairs and rest or you will catch cold. Mommy is there with you."
Zara sobbed and rushed upstairs, while Maya was yet lying down on the hard floor. "Mommy... mommy... please... I did not kill daddy. I saw it in my dream mommy...." Maya yet again tried to convince her mother but the lady somply broke down into tears and fell down on the floor crying.
Maya stood up on her feet and she knew she had to console her mom. Suddenly she felt that the entire responsibility of her mother was on her now. "Mother don't cry. I am there with you." She tried to hug her mother but the lady pushed her away crying again.
Maya was taken aback so she simply sat down on the floor the entire night, watching her mother cry the entire time. Neither did she have the courage to hug her again, nor did she have the heart to leave her alone.
