Clark felt as though there was a lump in his throat. There was an uncomfortable feeling in the pit of his stomach and he knew it only meant one thing.
He was hurt by what Damian said.
He fully knew that he was the one who defined their relationship as friendship, introducing Damian to other people as his friend, but now that what he said came back to him, he suddenly couldn't think properly.
"Hi! I'm Clark, Damian's friend," he introduced himself to Julie, wearing the sweetest smile he could make.
"For now," Clark continued and threw a glance at Damian.
The alpha was stunned.
He couldn't seem to understand what just happened, but the way Clark glanced up at him with a smile on his face made his heart skip a beat.
