"I'm going to cut ties with my father."
Chester's ears perked upon hearing what Paris said. He quickly turned his head to look at him and saw that he really was serious.
"I'm sure you already know what happened to me today. You've already seen the things he does to me, and I don't wanna go through the same thing again. I'm already of legal age and I can be independent now, so I guess this would be the perfect chance to do this," Paris said while lowering his head.
"I can try getting a part-time job to get by and I can still continue studying since I have a scholarship from school for being an athlete. If I sign the contract to go pro, I'd also get a signing bonus. If I try to make do with what I have, I can probably—" Before Paris could finish what he was saying, Chester's warm embrace came to him.
"That must have been a difficult decision to make. You did well," Chester said as he rubbed Paris' arm with his hand.
