Chapter 32 - Distressed

Ji Lan was woken up by the sunlight outside the window. She lazily narrowed her eyes and reached out to get the blanket.

The warm blanket told her that the man beside her had left, but not for long.

She got up and tugged at her sore waist and lower body. She could not help but let out a hiss.

Buried under the warm blanket that still had the lingering scent of the two of them, Ji Lan recalled how the two of them had sex the whole night after they had revealed their feelings. She even suspected that He Yi was actually trying to crush her.

She rubbed her waist, feeling both angry and amused. She snorted, "He Yi! I'm hungry!"

No one answered her for a long time. It seemed that he had already left the house.

He actually did not tell her that he was going out!

She wore pajamas and went to clean herself up. Beside the mirror, He Yi stuck a post-it note with an awkward kiss mark on it. "Good morning. I'll buy you breakfast."

Ji Lan touched the kiss mark on the paper and raised her eyebrows. "Is he sorry or shy?"

Anyhow, she had already forgiven him.

After washing up, Ji Lan looked downstairs. Coincidentally, she saw He Yi was with the breakfast he bought.

She smiled and rushed downstairs to get it from He Yi, wanting to give him a surprise.

The smile in He Yi's eyes was almost impossible for her to ignore. When he thought of last night's incident, the hostility that he had accumulated over the years subsided a little.

When He Yi looked up, he realized that something was not right. The main door had been blocked by a few black Bentleys. With only one look, he could tell that something was wrong.

He Yi's face regained its calmness as he walked over steadily step by step.

A shrewd-looking middle-aged man came down from the front passenger seat of the Bentley. He quickly went around to the back seat and opened the door to welcome the person in the car out.

It seemed like the man in the back seat was quite famous.

Ji Lingtian had never been ignored by a junior like this before. His face was dark and arrogant. "Are you the orphan who seduced Lil Lan?"

He knew how to attack a person's weakness. When his identity was revealed, He Yi's gaze became fierce for a moment. It was very embarrassing, but he knew what was happening. He bit the tip of his tongue and maintained his composure.

He Yi's actions undoubtedly challenged Ji Lingtian's dignity. He snorted coldly as he approached He Yi. Ji Lingtian's body was emitting a terrifying aura, and his gaze was contemptuous.

"You have no manners. You better know who you are and leave Lil Lan as soon as possible. Don't waste her time."

"Impossible."

He Yi's eyes were almost on fire. He was like a wild beast ready to attack whoever invaded his territory. He was dangerous and ruthless, as though he wanted to eat ji Lingtian alive.

Ji Lingtian felt a chill run down his spine when he saw Ji Lan's gaze, but what made him even angrier was the voice coming from behind He Yi. He turned his head and saw Ji Lan rush over with a vigilant look on her face and protect He Yi behind her. Her intentions were very clear.

He Yi calmed down when he saw Ji Lan. He stared in surprise at her who had appeared out of nowhere. His ten fingers went over and interlocked with hers. The two of them stood side by side.

Ji Lan mischievously tickled his palm, making him feel itchy, and he immediately restrained his aura.

Ji Lingtian was so blind that he wanted to ruin the atmosphere. The veins on his face were throbbing, but he still had to pretend to be a loving father. "Lil Lan, good girl. I won't harm you."

"You won't harm me?" Ji Lan's eyes flashed with ridicule, and her gaze was terrifyingly cold.

In her previous life, if it was not for her father, Ji Lingtian, how could she have been fooled by that dog, Ren Hao?

In Ji Lingtian's eyes, family ties were not even comparable to money. When he used his daughter's later life to make a deal, how could he not have thought that he was the girl's father?

He knew that his daughter was being bullied, and everyone was laughing at her, but he did not care at all. He just treated her as a chess piece, squeezing out the last bit of her value for his own good.
