Alita lifted her head, flower petals fell from the roof, several small children threw them from baskets made of woven bamboo from the balcony of their second-floor house, the children wore plain white clothes and wore happy faces.
"Get over here." Iris pulled the vampire girl's hand towards the shade of a tree whose canopy was wide downwards.
Underneath this place was the only place that had no flowers, clean. As if never touched at all.
Iris looked up, she squinted when she saw a slender woman sitting on a tree branch, her hair was golden blonde, filled with colorful flowers, her clothes looked like the petals of a lily turned upside down, her skin was fair yellow with cherry red lips.
"Flower fairy," Iris said with a frown on her face.
"My name is Rilie," said the fairy quickly, her pointed ears twitching.
Of all the races Iris had met she disliked flower fairies the most, they were beautiful, their bodies were beautiful, but most of them were cunning at heart.
Their power can control human consciousness with the scent of flowers they create, strong and alluring, making humans their slaves.
Usually, flower fairies enslaved humans as partners, it was rare for her to enslave humans in large numbers, let alone a village like this.
"What is your purpose?" Iris asked with eyes that never left Rilie.
Rilie didn't show any emotion on her face, flat and cold, a stark contrast to her pretty face.
"I am only carrying out orders from Her Majesty the Queen." Rilie swung her legs, a flower stalk emerged from the ground, making it a foothold for the fairy.
"And in case of intruders," Rilie said while pointing at Iris and Alita, a large sunflower appeared behind them both, devouring Alita in an instant. "We were ordered to eat it."
Iris dodged, her hand emitted a red mist and crushed the sunflower that was devouring Alita, the vampire girl instantly flew into the air with her black wings,
"What did that woman order you for? What is the purpose?" Alita shouted while flying low behind Iris.
The humans around them seemed to have no eyes to see them as if they were blind. No one glanced or noticed the presence of Alita and Iris, they continued their activities, singing and throwing flowers at each other in every corner of the village.
"I do not know."
Rilie raised her hand, hundreds of thorny tendrils of paper flowers appeared charging towards Iris.
"That's none of my business," she continued.
Iris clenched her fists, she could stand Alita's arrogance, but she couldn't help but see Rilie's arrogance, it felt like she wanted to ruffle the flower on her head.
Iris didn't want to destroy one more place, she had already destroyed half the beach yesterday, she didn't want to destroy an entire village because of her power.
"We were just passing through, not wanting to deal with you," said Iris in a calm voice. Alita turned to the Witch with a surprised look, she thought Iris would fight Rilie.
"We are looking for our friend."
Rilie yawned widely as if tired of hearing the words that came out of Iris's mouth, she blinked her eyes.
Alita frowned, she didn't understand Iris' way of thinking, Rilie didn't look like someone to talk to at all, the flower fairy waved her hand, a cactus with thorns appeared and aimed at the two of them.
"Iris! She won't listen to us!" Alita screamed while flapping her wide wings, flying upwards, dodging the attack. "Maybe Morgan and Thomas have been devoured by the flower!"
Iris looked at the sunflowers that were budding behind the tree where Rilie was staying, there was not only one there, but almost ten, the buds were bulging and big, as if they were carrying something.
"Hi."
Rilie snorted, her bare feet walking on the cactus unharmed, she looked at Iris with eyes full of ridicule.
Iris closed her eyes, she didn't want to make any unnecessary fuss at this point, but considering the state of the village was completely controlled by Rilie, it seemed that expanding her power wouldn't have any effect.
Iris took a deep breath, she was quite nervous to use her true strength, both her hands let out a mist of red smoke, the air around them started to feel hot.
Rilie narrowed her eyes at the change in Iris, she looked surprised for a moment, but her face returned to its normal level.
"The Red Witch isn't just a legend, is it." Rilie raised her hand to the sky, paper flowers like water gushing swiftly attacking Iris.
Iris stayed where she was, the red smoke in her hands expanding and rapidly burning the flower vines.
Alita was still floating in the air. She was completely ignored by the two women, she snorted.
Rilie kept attacking her from a distance, and Iris always retaliated by burning the tendrils with her red smoke.
"This will never end," Alita muttered, her eyes following Iris' movements.
Maybe Rilie was on purpose; if they continued like this, Iris would run out of steam. I don't know what the flower fairy was planning.
Alita glanced at the humans who were still partying to celebrate the flower festival. They were like resetting robots, doing the same thing over and over again, throwing flowers in the same place until they became mountains.
Alita doesn't understand her mother's desire to use flower fairies. Her mother could have ordered the Orc race to intimidate humans, making her submit to fear. That was the thing her mother used the most.
But why use flower fairies?
Alita doesn't understand.
Her eyes suddenly glanced at the bunch of sunflowers that were in bud. She guessed what kind of people were trapped there.
Alita sneaks behind Iris and Rilie's fight towards the flower bunch. She pokes holes in the flour little by little with her long nails, occasionally glancing at Rilie's eyes, making sure that the flower fairy doesn't notice her.
Little by little, the sunflower petals fell to the ground, Alita saw a strand of long black curly hair. She forced it open more and more and found a woman sleeping there.
"Oh my God! Truly human!" Alita half-whispered, she pulled the woman with difficulty, and they both fell to the ground.
Alita groaned and rubbed her aching back. She glanced at the curly-haired woman who moaned, her hand rubbing her eyes slowly.
"You are okay?" Alita asked worriedly.
The woman looked confused, she glanced around with dazed eyes. They were both silent for a while.
The sound of Iris fighting Rilie was heard from a distance, and the woman turned her head.
Alita followed the woman's gaze, she chuckled faintly. It's natural for humans to be surprised to see the fight between witches and fairies at such a close distance.
"Iris?"
But the words that came out of the woman's mouth made Alita dumbfounded. The woman seemed to recognize Iris.
