Chapter 14 - Foreign feelings

Seghete sat on the floor his head head hanging low on his knees. Beside him was a plate of food which laid untouched.

It was a meal of boiled bananas and a cup of porridge.

The guards had been pushing a plate of food in the cell room at least once per day but there wasn't even a single day when Seghete had touched the food brought to him.

The guards were shocked by his attitude, but what left them more perplexed was the fact that the prisoner seemed to be very energetic and rejuvenated without any signs of starving.

"Hey dear hunter shouldn't you be grateful at least am ordering the guards to bring you something to save your pathetic self from dying of hunger?" The prince who stood in front of the bars spoke sarcastically.

"It is better to take extra caution when you're under your enemy's territory lest they add poison to the food and drinks they offer you." Replied Seghete nonchalantly.

" Mhhmph you better eat because I wouldn't want you dead so soon, at least not before you witness my wedding with the girl." Kodawa spoke pridefully.

Seghete growled angrily shaking the chains that were binding him.

" Ooh my god...am feeling like am falling in love with that mannerless beauty..of course who wouldn't? given her curvy figure..the gap between her teeth..her long lashes elaborating the beauty of those dreamy eyes..ooh it is so-" he couldn't finish as Seghete had brought himself to stand up flaring anger.

" Son of a b**ch, bastard! I will never let that happen, She's mine. Iam going to slice off your head even before you think of wearing your f**ing clothes for the wedding!" Hissed Seghete, his whole body shaking in anger.

Seeing the poor prisoner shaking in anger with chains allover his body, the prince laughed mockingly.

Sheshije sat staring at the women weirdly. 'It must be hard for their relatives to stay with them all day and night...I mean how can someone stay close with these women even for a minute?' She grimaced when she thought about it.

"Sheshije dear, meet Mrs Lesayo, Mrs Kinyongia and Mrs zeghe, they are here to inform you about the tradition I was earlier telling you about, they are very nice women and very educative, these women henceforth shall also play a mother's role in your life just like me. They are responsible for ushering you in to adulthood, they shall also be your confidants in times when you need them. please be cooperative and allow them to shape you into a fine wife and also a woman of substance." Her mother started off the conversation.

Forcing out a smile she stood up to greet them. " Iam humbled to have you taking me to another stage in my life. I promise to be a good daughter to you as I am to my mother and cause no shame upon your names."

Her mother smiled on hearing the kind of response her daughter gave out. She knew deep down that her daughter had refrained herself from spurting venom.

She was aware of how her first born child was very straightforward and stopped at nothing when it came to giving out her point of view irregardless of the social status of the recipient.

As the women were happily conversing with her mother, Sheshije's thoughts drifted to someone else...

The hunter who was still being held captive in the dungeons of the palace. Her heart tightened in pain, she wanted to go see him so badly , there wasn't a single day when she had stopped thinking about him.

She couldn't bring herself to forget how safe she had felt around him the very first day they had met at the stream when the encounter which had given birth to all his bad luck on this land took place..

The feeling in her heart of wanting to be with him was so foreign to her. She had never experienced such turmoils in her system...where all she could think of was a man with a husky alluring voice, masculine torsos and a seductive husky voice...her heart tightened with a prick of pain.

' I must do something to help him out. I will plead with his Majesty the king to pardon him.. how can I seat and eat peacefully when a man is suffering because of me? no.. I must do something before that wrecked prince hurts him more. '
