Nina was sad to know that Sylvia had left without a word and refused to take any other maid with her. As Mrs. Fareham would be there to look after her she didn't want to trust any of Mrs. Batista's assistants.
The maids packed her things and many suggested Nina stay here as it would be hard for her to travel and she has been having back pain constantly. Even Theodore advised her to stay and said that he can manage on his own but Nina refused, telling him that she has to be there for him. She can't stay here and worry about him all the time. That's so much harder than traveling with him.
