Chapter 98 - Murong Clan's Divine Darts

Both mother and daughter seemed to share the uncanny talent of pissing off their opponents until making them spew their blood.

After about half a minute of halt, the man finally understood Nangong Ruyi's implication. He was instantly enraged.

However, before he could react the latter had made her move.

On the surface, Nangong Ruyi's expression remained unchanged, however, inside it wasn't the case. She wasn't as calm as she looked to be instead her heart was flooded with unease and anxiousness.

The moment the man mentioned the word 'clan' Nangong Ruyi knew that things weren't as simple as they looked on the surface. Everything that happened seemed to be a part of their conspiracy, it was all a ploy to divert her attention and catch her off guard to ambush her here.

This sudden realization sent Nangong Ruyi a shudder. At this moment she found it very fortunate that she was very perceptive and sent away her daughters to safety.

Initially, she had her guesses but when her guesses were confirmed out of the other party's mouth Nangong Ruyi's grip around her sword tightened, and the veins around her wrist were faintly bulging as she tried her best to clear her mind of the rage that nearly consumed her sanity.

Taking a deep breath she stared at the man opposite fixedly as an imperceptible glint flashed across the surface of her eyes.

These people seemed to be very clear about her identity since they finally dared to come out and face her head-on. In that case...

Nangong Ruyi's eyes instantly turned murderous.

These people must not be spared. They had to die, every one of them!

Initially, when she wasn't sure about their identity she planned to just throw them off given how urgent the situation was, however, now she wasn't planning on sparing a single one of them. Especially, when this matter was related to her two daughters' safety.

Boom!

After dealing them with a blow Nangong Ruyi's narrowed her eyes and looked at her opponents strangely who went reeling in from the impact of her spiritual force.

One could still see the stupified expression on their faces upon seeing how strong Nangong Ruyi was despite being under restriction just like them.

Nangong Ruyi was indeed a formidable opponent!

With her eyes slightly squinted and focused an invisible wave of mental energy slowly seeped out from her head, slow and gentle at the beginning before merging into torrential waves.

Nangong Ruyi was prepared to finish those people once and for all moment she resorted to a mental attack as she waited impatiently to finish off her opponents after they were weakened by the blow her gaze froze for a moment.....

This failed, her mental attack failed?!....it rebounded and disappeared.

Her eyes widened in shock slightly before she came to a realization.

These people came prepared. They must be using some artifacts to block off her mental attacks.

Under such circumstances, Nangong Ruyi was left with no choice but to fight them off physically.

Needless to say, these people had significant strength since they were given the task to abduct her forcefully by those old geezers from the clan.

However, no matter how strong they were outside that land they were all bound by the Heavenly restriction.

Even when it came to spiritual strength they won't be getting the upper hand.

Nangong Ruyi swung her glinting sword on one side sending a strong gale of spiritual Qi while on the other side, a few hidden darts were sent out flying with a simple flick of her long sleeve.

" Heh, you say I am an abominable existence that shouldn't have existed....."

Clang!

Boom!

"...yet you come here trying forcefully abduct me...child, you seem to have an underdeveloped brain, go home and cultivate more." Nangong Ruyi advised 'kindly' with words laced with nothing but provocation.

As expected the man in the lead flew into a rage once he heard her provocation, his face morphing into a ferocious scowl as he watched the woman continue with her provocation.

" And, let me remind you since have such a defective brain--my surname is Nangong not Murong--I am not related to your clan anyway."

The man couldn't stand this provocation, especially, when the person he looked down upon most kept commenting on his brain.

It was an absolute taboo in their clan to comment on a man's mental strength.

Hence, Nangong Ruyi's 'well-intentioned' advised poked the man and his underlings where it hurt the most.

He was one of the most talented juniors of their clan. How dare this audacious woman look down on him?!

Extremely enraged by her provocation the man steadied himself, ready to tear apart Nangong Ruyi into shreds then and there not caring about this mission any longer when he suddenly remembered something, and his grim expression was instantly replaced by a flash of victory.

Looking extremely evil the man chortled and told Nangong Ruyi in a gloating tone, " Heh...Yes, sure I'll go home, but what about you?"

He paused and let out a mirthful chuckle that sounded terrifying enough to make one's skin crawl with goosebumps.

Nangang Ruyi's heart lurched and a sense of foreboding enveloped her gradually.

" Oh, it looks like you haven't gotten the update yet. Hmm, no worries, let me relay it to you then, Hehe.....Nangong Ruyi, the place you call your home is long gone, your beloved husband whom you have been following like a love-struck fool is dead--he was forced off a cliff to embrace his death--hmm, there's also your two precious daughters, given the fate of your husband you can pretty much guess their ending as well...." The man didn't make it clear and ended it with a mystifying note.

While the woman didn't show much change upon this revelation the man managed to catch the visible pause in her gaze.

He smirked in victory as he discreetly gestured for his men to take action.

Nangong Ruyi knew what the man said must not be a complete truth. Despite being well aware of his devious tactic Nangong Ruyi felt a tight squeeze on her heart, the world around her seemed to darken as she gradually lost her composure.

It was at this moment a sharp pain shot through her veins that made her regain her sanity.

Her hand instantly shot up tracing its way to the back of her left shoulder and located a dart that was embedded deep into her flesh.

" Ugh...So, you guys are only so-so, using such cheap tricks." Nangong Ruyi removed the darts and sneered in mockery.

" What cheap tricks?! This is our Murong Clan's divine darts!" The man was fuming at her mocking tone and instantly retorted with a bark.

" Heh, Divine darts? You call this cheap thing divine? Instead of going about with this nonsense why don't you just honestly accept that you people from the Murong clan aren't capable enough, using such lowly means to strip off your opponent's spiritual energy, and you still have the face to call yourself Divine clan? Huh, what a load of bullish*t!"

While Nangong Ruyi verbally attacked the man her mind kept spinning trying to find a way to escape. She could feel the spiritual energy that kept draining from the meridians continuously and in no time she would turn into a complete waste, with no ability to protect herself.

" You b*tch, shut your trap! You'd better be obedient and follow us back to the clan if you want to see your daughters alive!" The man threatened as he made his way to her, he seemed to be already at his limit of rage.

Hence, Nangong Ruyi put up her last effort and fought them with her sheer physical strength.

Regardless of all her resistance, Nangong Ruyi's body went limp from too much exertion, and in the end, the people easily managed to overpower her with numbers.

In this world, people were just like that without spiritual energy they were even worse off than the ordinary man who earned their living through daily rough physical work.

Nangong Ruyi was helpless and in despair as she was carried away just like that. Those people didn't even bother to tie her up, most probably finding it unnecessary.

" Where do you think you are taking my mother?" A crisp voice rang from behind abruptly.

The men who were happily carrying Nangong Ruyi back to their clan instantly froze and their heads turned back in unison. Even Nangong Ruyi's crimson eyes bulged from shock.

Shocked and baffled at Jiang Ying Yue's unexpected appearance their minds turned blank momentarily.

Needless to say, before they could react Jiang Ying Yue took the chance to rescue her mother.

Darting at bullet speed she flashed like a shadow before the few of them found themselves crumbling from the sudden pain.

This.....how was this possible?! How could this person be so fast?!

While those people were wailing from pain Jiang Ying Yue had already taken the chance to rescue her mother from their clutches.

Her speed was unbelievable yet even more unbelieving was the fact that in doing all this she didn't even use a trace of spiritual energy.

The kicks and punches that she had rewarded the opposite party just now all came from her brute strength. This fact alone terrified those people witless who almost felt like dying from unbearable pain.

Despite all these, the infuriating thing was yet to come...

" Tsk...I was too slow." Jiang Ying Yue looked very unhappy with her current speed.

"...."

' If you can move even faster than this using just your physical strength are you even human?!' The people immediately wanted to scream and call the boy out for his unrestrained and shameless bluffing.

" Yue'er..." Nangong Ruyi called out softly as Jiang Ying Yue carried her away.

To which Jiang Ying Yue responded promptly trying to soothe her agitated state, " Mother, I'm here."

Nangong Ruyi couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief when she saw her daughter alive and unscathed before she felt her sight clouding and darkness took over her senses.

The 'Divine' darts that those people had used to subdue Madam Jiang seemed to be soaked in some type of drug. Now that Madam Jiang's spiritual energy stripped off her meridians the side-effect of the drug caught up to her making her lose consciousness.

" Mother, mother..."

Despite hearing her daughter's anxious cries Madam Jiang couldn't respond and just lay there with her last trace of consciousness sinking into oblivion.

" What have you done to my mother?" Jiang Ying Yue's voice sounded exceptionally chilling unknowingly sending those people a shiver.

From just aura alone those people could feel that this boy was different from the rest, however, despite this unknown fear they couldn't help being curious.

They were flummoxed.

Who was this boy and why was he calling this woman his mother?

When did Nangong Ruyi get such a big son?!...
