Chapter 90 - A Long-Term Investment

A helpless look was plastered all over Jiang Ying Yue's face as she watched the three people clinging to her and crying endlessly.

Jiang Ying Mei led the troupe and the other two maids followed behind closely and kept up with the rhythm.

It felt like centuries had passed and all her last bit of energy had been drained in coaxing them. She was absolutely numb.

It looked like she really had no talent for coaxing people!

After all, given her status and temper in her previous life, whether it was coaxing or pleasing people, these were something that she had never done before.

Now that she had suddenly crossed over and even acquired an additional identity of a 'sister', Jiang Ying Yue really found herself at her wit's end.

Everything appeared fine and she was patient with everything until it came to a situation just like this moment.

Jiang Ying Yue could only lean back and watch helplessly.

The guests around them were all throwing them curious and strange looks. After all, it wasn't an everyday occurrence to come by a bunch of men hugging and crying like it was the end of the world.

It was actually quite funny and reminded her of the day when she had first crossed over to this world. Back then, their unceremonious crying had caught her off guard and made her experience this strange and unfamiliar helplessness.

It looked like some time had passed since then but even so, nothing seemed to have changed...

Fortunately, their table was on the corner, and these three people knew how to control their voices when they sobbed, otherwise, the noise would have caused disturbances for other guests.

The rest of them, who were sitting across the crying troupe looked at Jiang Ying Yue somewhat sympathetically, whose sleeves were already covered in tears and snot.

" Xiao Er, serve us breakfast." In the end, Jiang Ying Yue turned around and ordered the waiter exasperatedly.

If she couldn't do it, then let the food do the magic. As long as their mouths were stuffed with something they would surely stop crying.

And as expected, as soon as breakfast was served the people's stomachs started to grumble, and in the end, they reluctantly sniffled and hiccuped, deciding to take a short break to fill their empty stomachs before resuming their crying.

" Brother Tian Shan, did you guys encounter any difficulty getting out of the mountain that day?" Jiang Ying Yue asked while eating.

" Hmm...." Tian Shan swallowed the porridge in his mouth and replied swiftly, " No, no...there was no problem on the way down the mountain. And it's all thanks to you we were able to get out that effortlessly back then." His tone was very sincere he was really grateful to Jiang Ying Yue for that reason, the boy had helped them a lot during this trip. Not to mention he had practically saved their lives in the dire situation.

" Ah...I am glad then, Brother Tian Shan, no need to thank me, we're companions for this trip so it is only right for us to help each other. As long as we could it's only reasonable for us to help each other." Her tone was very light as if she didn't take this small matter to heart and was just casually stating a fact. She didn't try to ingratiate herself or tried to win a favor, and just behaved casually and generously. Not to mention she didn't even look curious about the bunch of guards that she had saved previously. It showed that she wasn't the nosy type and knew her boundary.

However, seeing her attitude the other party only felt more admiration. The impression they had of her improved to a greater extent by leaps and bounds.

Tian Shan gave her a deep look and the appreciation in his eyes that held for the boy was apparent and even Yuan Fang, who had taken her for potential rival and refused to show her good face, had a rare look of good-will towards her.

" Yes, you are right. 'Brothers' should help each other."

This simple word 'brother' had already revealed his intention and stance. And, this time, it wasn't just a perfunctory sentence, from the look in his eyes Tian Shan really meant it.

If in the past he felt obligated to help Jiang Ying Yue because they'd owed her favor then now he was more keen on establishing a good relationship with the boy. He truly felt that this youth was worth it. So, he wouldn't mind looking forward to a relationship that went beyond matters of gain and loss.

This boy's temperament was entirely different from some people who'd leech off other people shamelessly just because the other party owed them a favor. This sort of person didn't know their boundaries and wouldn't stop until they sucked people dry.

Tian Shan was disgusted by this sort of people to the core. And found it fortunate that Xiao You wasn't the type of person he hated the most.

Jiang Ying Yue didn't respond and just smile not denying his words. After all, this was what she wanted--A solid connection of her own.

Sometimes, if you want to gain more, you shouldn't solely focus on the subject of gain and loss. There was a thing called--investment in her world, which allowed people to enjoy long-term benefits and profits.

Just the prerequisite for this was that one needs to be enough rational and patient. If you want to catch a bigger fish you'd better ignore the smaller ones.

If she wanted more than just this favor then she needed to be patient and not too eager. Appearing too enthusiastic and clingy would only cause the other party to feel disgusted. Furthermore, this was not her style, to begin with.

She knew the situation of Jiang Manor was dire and they were in a passive situation. So, before she could get rid of the current circumstance and grow her substantial forces she needed to rely on these connections to some extent when the time came.

Moreover, she wasn't conceited to think that with only the space in her hand, she could conquer the world. She wasn't some naive and ignorant girl who knew nothing of the world!

Before she grew stronger it was always good to cautious.

And of course, she was also someone who knew her boundary wouldn't be taking complete advantage of them. What she was looking for was a long-term cooperative relationship, a win-win situation for both.

When she was in deep thought she suddenly a felt gaze on her. When Jiang Ying Yue suddenly lifted her head she met Xiang QingLing 's meaningful smiling gaze.

Oh....so, this was the old fox of the bunch!!

Faced with such a meaningful smile Jiang Ying Yue didn't flinch or evade and instead returned it beautifully.

Xiang QingLing slightly raised her brows. She seemed once again surprised.

This brat was this small, but his mental fortitude was commendable!

" Oh, right, have you met a man who had the looks of a flower and his eyes are super charming--" Jiang Ying Yue started giving a bunch of descriptions. She didn't name that person directly instead she spoke in a riddle. There was no way she would simply believe anyone who showed up in front of the door out of nowhere. So, she chose this way to confirm the situation because she guessed that man was the same person who had escorted her sister and maids here.

And as expected it didn't take long for Jiang Ying Mei to interrupt her halfway, " Big brother, you are talking about Brother Wei Mo?"

Jiang Ying Yue:"???" 'Brother Wei Mo??... My God, why did it sound so warm?! What had she missed?!'

Jiang Ying Yue couldn't react for a while but Jiang Ying Mei was still speaking, " Yes, Big Brother, you are right! Brother Wei Mo is handsome like flowers, he is very good looking and he is also a very nice person!"

Jiang Ying Yue:"....."

The flower-like Wei Mo, who was hiding in the dark:"....." ' Waaa....finally, finally there was someone who knew his true value!'

He couldn't help taking out a small mirror from somewhere and admiring his beautiful face smugly.

Jiang Ying Yue looked very surprised by her reaction, and couldn't help probing further, " Oh...is he that nice person?"

" Yes, he is very nice, he saw that I was worried about you and wasn't eating well, so even he bought me candies every day." Jiang Ying Mei was so happy that she didn't realize it and spilled out everything.

' Oh...so that was the case!'

Jiang Ying Yue raised her brows in understanding as her smile widened. She didn't say anything else but the maids sitting beside her understood everything.

' Second Miss, please take care of yourself, this slave can't help you from here on!'...

Jiang Ying Mei, who was blissfully eating her breakfast still had no idea that her unintentional comment would lead to her future disaster. Her secret stash of sweets would be all dug out and her supplies would be cut by half.

The episode didn't last long and after finishing their breakfast they went out to look around.

" I heard that there was an auction house here?" Jiang Ying Yue asked as walked on the streets looking around the city.

Last time, they were in rush and didn't have the chance to look around. So, this time she wanted to visit the auction house before leaving for the capital.

" Yes, there is, at the other end of this street." Xiang QingLing responded before asking, " Do you want to take a look? We were also planning to go there. They said that many special items would be put out for auction today. So, it's going to be very crowded. Let's go and take a look, even if you don't want to buy something it'll be a good experience." Xiang QingLing took the initiative to suggest kindly, her tone warmer and more sincere than usual.

" Hmm." Jiang Ying Yue also notice her subtle change but she didn't show any unusual expression on her face and just nodded.

" Alright, then let's go together." Xiang QingLing smiled and led the way.

And it didn't take them long before they arrived at the entrance of the auction hall.

The attendants who were standing near the door welcomed everyone politely with a smile.

The group was about to stride in and enter the door when they suddenly heard someone calling and halted in their steps.

" Grandmaster, you are finally back!" Elder Mo huffed and puffed as he came running.

He had been caught up with something these past two days and wasn't in Lan Quan. So, didn't hear the news of her arrival until his return.

He had been worried sick when saw that his precious Grandmaster hadn't returned after so many days and was almost about to head out to look for her in person. But then something happened, then he had no choice but to delay this matter for two more days.

Now that he saw the person standing here alive and well, his tensed nerves finally loosened.
