Chapter 88 - White Tiger

After chasing Wei away Jiang Ying Yue focused on delivering the child.

And the tigress was very cooperative and followed Jiang Ying Yue's every instruction obediently and it didn't take long before a fat male baby tiger was delivered.

Unlike normal tiger cubs, who were usually born in pairs, this tiger cub was much fat and larger.

Its meaty paws were adorable and squishy and it had its eyes still closed.

The tigress eyes brimmed with motherly love and gentleness when it gazed at its newborn cub gently.

" Your baby is very adorable." Jiang Ying Yue smiled and praised as it the tip of her thumb caressed its small head gently. Then she once again her gaze shifted back to the tigress, " You did very well, you are a great mother!"

The tigress licked her hand that was caressing its cub and then glanced at its cub affectionately once again.

The tigress's eyes were soft and gentle, and her entire aura brimming with mother.

It kept staring at its newborn cub for a long while unblinking, licking it, and embracing it before finally looking up at Jiang Ying Yue.

Through gentle eyes, one would have also sensed its inexplicable sadness and reluctance as it stared at her deeply as if trying to glimpse into the deepest part of her soul.

However, the cave was too dim, and no matter how keen her gaze was Jiang Ying Yue still failed to notice it.

Then, as if finally making up its mind it nudged the tiger cub with its snout towards Jiang Ying Yue gently.

" What?..."

The tigress carefully held the cub between its teeth and placed it on Jiang Ying Yue's lap.

" You want to give to me?!" Jiang Ying Yue held the cub and asked.

Even though she had long realized her goal for coming here was this very tiger cub, Jiang Ying Yue never expected this task to be that easy.

She presumed that she had to spend quite an effort and time on her part to convince the tigress to entrust her with its cub.

However, it turned out to be so easy. Just like that...

the tigress nodded then struggled to stand up and walked away staggeringly out of the tunnel.

Jiang Ying Yue looked incredulously and seemed to understand the tigress's intention.

Ding!

"Congratulations, host, on the completion of your first task!"

" The first quest reward: The Cultivation Pagoda-- Unlocked!"

As soon as, Jiang Ying Yue lifted her eyelids the scene before her eyes had already changed.

The lush green pasture was far and wide and a tall mountain stood at the back.

And what stood out most was....the large rippling lake that rested at the center. It appeared out of nowhere suddenly as if conjured out of magic.

The huge lake was beautiful yet magnificent, as its surface shimmered under the rolling dreamy clouds and brilliant azure sky.

The beauty of the entire 'Brahma' reflecting on its glittering and clear surface.

However, regardless of the extent of its beauty it held, what attracted Jiang Ying Yue most was the magnificent and stunning pagoda.

The imposing and grand pagoda, stood high at the center of the rippling lake connected by two arching bridges from both sides.

Even from afar, Jiang Ying Yue could tell that the whole pagoda and even that pair of bridges were carved out of top-grade white jade.

The pagoda was imposing yet its every pillar and every slab was carved intricately and was exquisite.

If she had the time Jiang Ying Yue wanted to look around, however, she knew the situation wouldn't permit it.

The situation was critical outside!

Furthermore, there was still Wei waiting outside. It wouldn't do if she just disappeared like that again!

With that thought, Jiang Ying Yue prepared to leave immediately. However, when she happened to unintentionally glance down, she received another shock.

Eh....why was this tiger cub....white?

Jiang Ying Yue immediately lifted the cub and brought it in front of her face and scanned it from head to toe intently.

The cub had yet to open its eyes but its silvery coat and the small birthmark on its forehead were very eye-catching.

Curious, Jiang Ying Yue used the tip of her finger and rubbed the birthmark gently. The more she looked, the more she felt that this birthmark seemed to resemble the character ' King'.

" Master, you are in luck! This white tiger is the beast king! When it opens its eyes you should establish a contract with it."

Abhram appeared suddenly out of thin air, approaching her while dragging along sleeping Azure by her foot.

Azure, who was deep in her sleep had no idea how certain someone was taking his sweet revenge by dragging her small body around the entire pasture round after round like an unwanted burlap sac.

Jiang Ying Yue: "...." Who should she sympathize with?! After all, after the little girl woke up, this brat definitely wouldn't have a good ending!...

" How's Tangtang?" asked Jiang Ying Yue as she knelt beside the little girl.

To which Abhram immediately responded with a snort, " No worries, master, she's strong as a fat bull! What possibly could happen to her?!" Even at this moment, the little guy didn't. forget to exact his revenge as he 'unintentionally' stepped on the other person's toes.

Jiang Ying Yue watched from the corner of her eyes, her eyes twitching subtly. And in the end, decided not to interfere in their business of warfare, because it would only end up hurting her brain.

After making sure of Azure's condition she took off with the tiger cub in a blink.

And the next moment, when she appeared she was back at the end of the tunnel where she had disappeared from earlier not long ago.

As soon as her feet landed on the ground, she heard hurried footsteps darting toward her at an incredibly fast pace.

" Jiang Ying Yue?!...." The man called out coldly, his eyes submerged in layers of frost.

" Why are you here?..." Jiang Ying Yue, however, behaved as if nothing had happened and acted normally while trying to divert Wei's attention, " Let's go, it's too suffocating here!"

Upon hearing her usual bossy tone and Wei assumed that she must be alright and his tense nerves seemed to loosen immediately.

On the other hand, Jiang Ying Yue threw these words and fled quickly without giving him any chance to respond.

If they stayed the man might ask some dangerous questions?!

She didn't know why but she had this weird feeling that this dangerous man had been keeping a close watch on her since her first sudden disappearance.

It wasn't her narcissism but rather her instinct.

Outside the cave, the two parties were going through a fierce battle, two against countless numbers. It was overwhelming.

Despite being severely injured and surrounded from all four sides the two didn't cower down.

" Master, let's slip out of here!" Abhram hurriedly urged at first glance.

He certainly worked hard to live up to his cowardly character!

However, this time Jiang Ying Yue didn't mock him, rather she was also very supportive of this idea.

Her heart couldn't help but palpitate rapidly.

No matter how brave she was, she was brave enough to face these hordes of beasts head-on!

It was better to escape!

Especially.....when the other party seemed to have already taken notice of them.

Being stared at by countless pairs of greedy and obsessed eyes Jiang Ying Yue felt her scalp tingle. She subconsciously moved closer to Wei.

Wei looked at the girl, who for once behaved timidly and instinctively leaned closer, trying to comfort her and shield her from all dangers.

The tigress let out an earth-shaking roar the instant it noticed their presence as though urging them to leave that instant.

On the other hand, the beasts had already noticed them, currently making their way to them.

Regardless of how hard the pair fought, preventing them from approaching closer to the cave the beasts kept coming.

They acted as though they had all lost their minds and were in frenzy.

Their attacks only grew stronger and more brutal.

The tiger and the tigress roared sending a series of powerful shock waves. The ground, trees, and mountains quivered under their might.

Even if they had to sacrifice themselves the pair adamantly wanted to protect their child.

Originally, Jiang Ying Yue also planned to leave just as the pair had wished. Her task was already completed and there was no need for her to entangle further.

But when she saw them this way she grew hesitant for some reason.

Honestly, in all her life she had never been a kind person. Even when occasionally she acted like one she just couldn't let go of her habit of harboring hidden motives.

Besides, her parents had never been actually nice to anyone.

No wonder, she lived up to twenty-four without any lover or friends!

Perhaps, she was like that. Hence, she never completely trusted human relationships. In her eyes, the only thing that ensured the validity of a relationship was gain and profits.

In all her years of being alive, the only time she was truly being kind was probably the time when she saved Wei.

However, at this moment when she saw the pair of tigers using their lives to buy them enough time to escape, Jiang Ying Yue couldn't help showing hesitance.

Following this, her mind automatically started to spin coming up with a satisfactory rescue plan.

And it didn't take her long before her spinning mind came up with a good solution.

With one hand hugging the cub while the other reaching out for Wei's neck, Jiang Ying Yue gave out the immediate command, " Don't let them catch us!"
