Everett had expected that Josie would have a hard time accepting that he knew the truth and wanted to be with her. It still hurt that she doubted herself so much though. But after finding out more about her family, he understood why.
It made their audacity at bothering her that much worse. If he ever got his hands on them…
But he couldn't focus on that for long. He was too relieved that his plan actually worked. Josie was finally telling him about herself for real. She was going to let him stay with her. Everything he had worried about wasn't a problem anymore.
Everett would continue getting used to this strange new world with her by his side to guide him. He couldn't think of anything better.
