"Here you go!" Josie chirped as she set down a plate in front of Everett. "I hope you like it."
He took a bite and his eyes widened. He did like it. Very much. He had always been fond of sweets once he was introduced to them so late in life but they had a much wider variety here than they did back home.
That was one thing this place had going for it. The other was Josie herself.
She looked at him expectantly and he couldn't help but smile at her. "It's delicious. Thank you, Josie."
She beamed at him with such happiness that she couldn't keep her eyes open and clapped her hands together. "Wonderful! I thought you'd like them. There are so many good foods to try here. We should really go out to eat more often so I can introduce them to you while we have the chance."
