"You seriously like me?" Damien asked in disbelief.
Maisie let out a despairing sigh and leaned her head against the back of the couch. "I love you, you idiot. Have for a long time now."

"Why wouldn't I? You're funny, handsome, and passionate. My life was so boring before I met you. You came in like a shooting star and swept me off my feet. You think you ruined my life by taking away my options? There was never any other option for me. It was always you."
Damien couldn't believe what he was hearing. It countered everything he had ever thought about their relationship.
What was he supposed to think about this? He honestly didn't know.
They were stuck together anyway and she had real feelings for him. It wasn't that he didn't feel anything for her. She was one of the people he cared about most. How could he not when they spent so much time together?
