Damien had promised to find Maisie a new coven though. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life alone. Coven life was all she knew before coming here.
"I've never heard of a witch without a coven! I don't want to be alone," she confessed.
"You won't be. If it's a sense of community you want, I have a big family. Huge. You can be one of us. We all have some witch blood anyway even if it is super diluted at this point. And you can still associate with the witch coven if you want. You just can't live there because my secret would get out sooner or later," he said seriously.
Her heart skipped a beat. One of them? Could she really be part of a family after being rejected by her own? She couldn't dare hope.
"Damien, you'll be stuck with me for the rest of your life if you become my familiar! Do you really want that? I don't want you to resent me for it later," she replied before biting her lip, hesitant.
