Sylvie continued stewing in this until Drake came home from work. She greeted and kissed him like usual, he thanked her for dinner and told her how good it was like usual, then he threw her off by announcing that they were going out.
"I got us movie tickets," he said. "The food should have settled enough by then for us to get popcorn."
She hadn't been expecting that. The closest thing to a date they had been on until now was going on that bike ride together but taking your wife to the movies was definitely a date. He had to know that.
Maybe he just didn't want to go by himself though. The movie they went to was an action one and he mentioned liking them before. He might have been wanting to see this for a while and figured he should bring her along.
It wasn't Sylvie's cup of tea but it wasn't bad. There were some funny parts and a few of the stunts were cool.
