It took Sylvie a couple of hours of rest and drinking plenty of water before she felt clearheaded enough to look over the contract Drake prepared. It did weigh oddly in her favor. All she had to do was treat him the way she had treated Jared, which he had already mentioned.
She had to get a few clauses added about specific things she didn't want done to her but he did so without any fuss. It seemed that he hadn't been planning on doing those things anyway based on his reaction but he was hard to read.
She didn't understand him at all. Why would he go out of his way to help a stranger in exchange for her marrying him and acting like a real wife would? Was he that desperate?
Sure, he was intimidating but he was a handsome man. If he wanted a wife, he shouldn't have had any problems finding one on his own.
