Hailey did her best to squash her guilt but that wasn't the only thing she had to worry about. Thanksgiving was coming up and Dallin wanted to bring her to Arizona to meet his parents.
He had been surprisingly accepting of her constant deflecting about her past but what if they weren't? What if they saw right through her and tried to talk him out of being with her? She knew how much he loved them. They stayed in regular contact so she had talked to them on speakerphone before.
She couldn't afford to screw this up so she was noticeably nervous in the days leading up to their departure. Dallin noticed.
"You okay, Hailey?"
"What if your parents don't like me?" she asked in a small voice.
That was a fairly normal thing to worry about meeting your boyfriend's family for the first time, wasn't it? Admitting it wouldn't be suspicious.
Dallin sighed and hugged her tightly. "They already like you! You have nothing to worry about."
