They hadn't been able to talk much but from what little they had, they didn't seem to have much in common. Dane supposed he would find out as they interacted more. He looked forward to it.
He wanted to know everything about Ginger. He wanted to be close to her. The day after their first date as he manned the counter in the store, he was so miserable missing her that he slumped over and hit his head against the counter.
There weren't any customers around so Gus, who had been sweeping, looked at him in concern. "You okay there, Dane?"
"No. But I'll get over it. I just want it to be the weekend already."
"…it's Tuesday."
He let out a sad whine at the reminder. "I know!"
Maggie glanced over with a frown from where she was stocking shelves. "What's this weekend?"
"Something important."
"Don't you work this weekend?"
