Ava wasn't supposed to get used to having friends around OR having all the affection she had missed out on over the years. It would only hurt her more in the end.
But how could she turn it away now? She had to take advantage of it while she could even if it would hurt more later. And she couldn't reject Ginzi especially; he was just a baby and relied on her emotionally since his family was gone.
She couldn't help but worry how he would react to their imminent separation. Had Zeldris explained what would happen to him yet or not? Was he waiting until it was all over so the baby wouldn't throw a tantrum? Those two were very in tune with each other after the contract was made. Probably because their magic was linked. He most likely knew that Ginzi would be upset and was trying to put that off as long as possible.
At least he wouldn't be completely alone. He would have Zeldris and the other katzkin here.
