Zeldris grew impatient quickly. He wanted this over with. What was taking those other two so long?!
They had been gone for weeks. He had to briefly take Ava back to the human world to pay for her pets to stay longer at the boarding center and she had been so happy to see them and not have to wear the gas mask that she burst into tears.
Trying to comfort her was distressing because she cried for much longer than she had the first time. All of this was too much for her fragile human sensibilities to handle.
She went back to her apartment to shower, change, and grab some snacks before they went back and gave him a brave attempt at a smile. "I can share them with you if you want. I brought a bunch."
"Keep them for yourself. You need them more," Zeldris said, despite how much he liked human snacks.
