Ava woke up on a bed when she distinctly remembered falling asleep on a couch and wondered who had moved her. Why hadn't they bothered waking her up? It had to be either Kael or Zeldris; she doubted either of them would let Ian lay a finger on her.
She wouldn't have wanted that either. She still had very mixed feelings about him that had made yesterday long and stressful. No wonder she had fallen asleep during the movie. She had been exhausted.
At least she felt surprisingly well-rested. It must be the mattress. It was a lot higher quality than the one she had at home.
During breakfast she ignored her friends' squabbling for the most part because she was so shocked to see Ian look so unpolished. He had adapted to his lawyer persona very well and never had so much as a hair out of place but this morning he looked like a normal person who just rolled out of bed. Albeit one with wings.
