Ava finished unpacking and went to go check on her friends. She was startled to find Zeldris right outside her door sitting cross-legged on the ground.
"Uh…what are you doing down there, Zel?"
"Making sure the fairy doesn't try anything. He's talking to the elf downstairs but I'm not taking any chances," he said with a scowl. "He's up to something bringing all of us here like this."
Honestly, she thought so too but didn't think they had any other choice. She knew her friend was trying to look out for her even if he was being grumpy about it so she could be magnanimous about his attitude.
Ava held her hand out to help him up. "Come on. We should go see what's going on down there."
Zeldris took it and once he was on his feet, he hugged her. "You've only had two of your eight today," he said gruffly. "We may as well since we're here."
