Pass on both of their blood? Was Ian getting at what Ava thought he was getting at because it sounded an awful lot like he needed the two of them to have a baby together! That totally counted as weird!
She instantly crossed her arms over her chest in a self-protective gesture and scowled at him. "Seriously?"
Ian sighed again. "I told you that you would misunderstand. I didn't tell you I was a fairy because I wanted to do this the normal way. Everybody would have been happy and I would have been able to age and die at last. But no, your friends had to ruin it."
As if that was any better! Ava very easily could have ended up going along with his plan and been lied to her entire life. She didn't want that at all.
If she hadn't found out the truth, she probably would have caved to his carefully crafted charms eventually. She had liked him for the past two years because of how nice he had been to her at work.
