Cora sat up and stretched before asking Ace what he wanted to eat after continuing to lean against his shoulder for a while. He acted like that was perfectly normal and that he hadn't noticed she had woken up earlier.
He said anything was good and she ended up making a chicken salad. Then she wanted to get more cupcake decoration practice in so she made cupcakes after they ate.
She was totally trying to keep herself distracted. He could tell. He wasn't about to complain about getting free cupcakes though. Or the opportunity to spend more time with her. Originally he thought she would send him home after dinner.
It seemed that Cora didn't want to be alone either. He was glad he was able to help on that front. He needed to feel like he was doing SOMETHING. He hated how useless he felt in the face of her problems a lot of the time. It was a familiar feeling and one that he didn't like at all.
