Cora couldn't do this. It was getting too close to confrontation territory and she wasn't mentally prepared for one of those right now. She shouldn't have come here. This was a terrible idea!
"Are you okay?" Ace asked in concern.
Great. He noticed she was freaking out. Of course he did!
"I don't know," she whispered.
There was so much Cora didn't know right now. She had never been so confused in her life. She had been more afraid but not since leaving Seattle and settling in here.
He asked if she wanted to go home and she immediately said no. That would be too rude. She couldn't do that. He hadn't actually done anything terrible to her. She was just a coward. She had to see this through to the end and then spend the rest of her life hiding from both Diamond and Ace.
Cora mustered up all of her courage to ask her next question. "Have you met your soulmate?"
