My brother and I went around Rome together, it's a beautiful place indeed. The view was astonishing. We went to Vatican Museums and of course we wouldn't wanna miss the famous Colosseum, which is the number one attraction of Rome. As we roamed the streets of Rome, once again I remembered the foul words I received from my "supposed to be husband's family" his family and my family is well known in the Philippines for our businesses, I was on the news "The Heiress of blah blah ran away", people would blame me for accepting his proposal then leaving him on our wedding day, pero ano bang magagawa ko he proposed on front of the whole world, what was I supposed to do?
Honestly my relationship was him at first was so perfect. He was the perfect boyfriend, but then after a few months his true colors started coming out, and since I loved him I stayed. I endured everything. My brother's knew about it, they didn't mind it thought. They were with me always, they cared they just wanted me to realize and handle things my way in order for me to learn shits the hard way. Martin well no gonna lie anymore he was a huge pain in the ass, and to be honest I guess he just wanted to marry me because it was "convenient" he is in love with himself! Kulang na nga lang ay halikan nya ang sarili nya gamit ang salamin.
My kuya's were right some people don't really show their true colors, minsan they hide it from you and then after a few months or years pinapakita na nila ang totoong kulay nila.
I remember the day Martin proposed to me, we were having dinner at this fancy resto that he loved, ate stake he talked about HIMSELF, his plans and all. It was a normal fancy dinner that we always do since he hated eating fast food saying it would only ruin his image. Who doesn't like Jollibee? Him.
*Flashback*
I was about to eat a piece of stake I ordered when Martin spoke
"I was at the gym earlier and I did this exercise that's very helpful to men and women you might wanna try it out this Sunday, I mean you could loose some weight and well you're gonna be healthier" ``
I raised a brow at him and ate my stake "I go to church on Sundays alam mo yan, and I work out too"
"What do you think about getting married?"
I choked on my food agad akong uminom ng wine.
"Are you okay?" tanong nya
"Yeah, but getting married? I honestly don't know" I said and continued eating
When we finished eating we stayed for dessert and then he popped the question the piano started playing this song that I hated and he kneeled in front of me and started asking me if I'd marry him.
Everyone inside the resto was looking at us with phones on their hand, his parents were there also, well his whole family! Cousins, Siblings, Aunts, and Uncles. I was so pressured. I felt like I was in a tiny cave and I couldn't breath properly! I am freaking out.
"Yes?" he inserted the ring in my middle finger and hugged me the crowd was also cheering flashes surrounded us, and when morning came I was on the news. We. We were on the news and Felix even did an interview, everything he said was very exaggerated.
My family laughed their asses out, they didn't take my relationship with Felix seriously. Not even once.
A lot of people were dining that night since it was a Friday usually fancy restos like this are full during Fridays. I could over hear the people talking about the latest trends, this Gucci bag and that Gucci bag, business deals, and many more fancy stuff. I was very uncomfortable. My family can afford the things that we want, but me and my brothers all knew the value of money. We had our own set of chores to do at home, we were given money to pay our own tuition, in short we didn't live a fancy life. We had to work hard for the things that we wanted. We didn't whine to get ourselves the latest iPhone, the latest Dior Bag, the latest Armani watch. The things me and my brothers have today we earned it, we worked our asses every single day to get the things we wanted. While Martin was the complete opposite of me he was the eldest among all his siblings so he got everything and he's the only boy in the family. He got everything he wanted while growing up, he lived in luxury while his dad worked and his mom spent her day at the salon or with her friends pampering themselves, one of the things you wouldn't wanna do when you see Martin's mom, don't hug her. She got breast implants 6 times it made them bigger it was like hard balloons it wasn't silicone it felt like cement!
"Are you thinking about that supposed to be husband of yours sis?"
I stopped reminiscing when I heard Brickston speak
"Yeah. Well I am also thinking about the foul words his family sent me through messenger, I had to block one each of them well except for his cousins from his father side who cheered me up and told me how strong and amazing I was for leaving their self centered son of a bitch cousin, who was also a pain in their asses"
Brickston grinned when he heard what I said, it was true some of his guy cousins from his father's side cheered me up and they did a great job by the way, aside from that they also sent me a video of Martin crying while looking at his face while whining, he acted like a child. I mean how could I marry someone like him, vain and childish.
Brickston and I stayed at a beautiful over looking restaurant that deserved the greatest delicacies of Italy.
It was amazing. I'd love to wake up every morning seeing this beautiful scenery.
"So what is my ate thinking about? Ang lalim ng iniisip mo based on your looks"
Natawa ako sa sinabi nya, he looked at me weirdly "Nababaliw ka na ba ate?"
"Gago HAHAHAHA. Natutuwa lang ako sa view."
"oooh, it is nice. I wish I could live here"
I smiled. "Yeah me too"
Everything feels like a dream. I've been to Italy twice pa lang since only our parents come here and minsan sa States ako madalas mag bakasyon.
