Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The Forest Cavern

Within a dark foggy forest, a middle-aged man sits atop a towering pine tree. The man is fit with weaved gray robes, his hair is long brown and disheveled.

The man abruptly turns his head towards a booming explosion from deeper in the dark forest. "Hmm, no one comes to this forest. It's easy to get lost inside the fog. Most of the time people are attacked by the wildlife that hunts at night. I should shroud myself to remain here till I locate the target... So much work..." Says the gray-robed man before his body glows with white light and he slowly blends in with the tree.

Within a damp cave, William is awoken as a liquid drips on his face and a cold breeze chills him to the bone. As I regain consciousness the first thing I notice is the blistering cold assaulting my body as my clothing clings tightly to my body. Opening my eyes I find myself laying in a puddle of water that's dripped from the shallow ceiling of the cave. The cave is slightly illuminated by small neon-red mushrooms and moss clinging to the walls. "God it's cold... where am I?"

[Greetings host this is a pre-recorded message I will now integrate your system. This world is one of war, swords, and magic all people are born different, Once one reaches the age of 16 the granting of a class occurs based on personal experiences and skills. You will be given a chance to determine one shortly.]

"I wonder what I'll get to decide from, this should be interesting."

[INTERGRATION 60%]

As I get up and look around the cave I notice something metallic shimmering in the red light next to the cave wall.

[INTERGRATION 80%]

"Oh damn, it's almost done," I mutter as swiftly I reach the protruding item. As I reach out and touch the metal object I quickly realized I'm most likely not as safe as I thought as I can now make out that under the item rests a large pile of humanoid bones vaguely illuminated by the faint glow of vegetation. Quickly grabbing the metallic object and withdrawing to the middle of the cavern I look at the walls and notice two separate openings one looks to lead deeper into the cavern where no light can be seen, and the other has some dim white light and a shallow breeze so it should return to the surface. Looking at my hand I finally note I had grabbed an old rusted bastard sword. Quickly reinforcing my feelings of most likely not being alone or safe within the cave.

[Inventory contains 1 class starter box]

"hmm, my skills seem a little powerful for my level. No matter I should open that starter box" mumbles William as the class box from within his inventory empties itself.

[class box opened]

[1 Warlock Armor set]

[1 Hallowed dagger of soul leach]

[1 Potion of eternal magic added]

[ 3 Healing Potions]

[ 1 Observation skill book]

Let's use the skill book first... a purple glint of light appears and lingers over his hands as a gray and simple leather-bound book appears and a notification appears.

[Learn the observation passive skill?]

[(Yes) (No)]

As William selects yes the book vanishes into thin air and a notification buzzes in his head.

[Passive added to skills:

[C-](Observe): Gain an understanding of your surrounding all entities display a basic info bar. All items will have a tooltip display to know the item stats.]

William quickly takes all items out of inventory and after a few flickers of faint light, the items now rest in front of him on the cavern floor. "Let's look at the armor and weapon first." William picks up a red and black-cloaked armor and suddenly a small window appears above it.

[Warlock Armor set]

(Basic set of armor for an official Warlock made of magic-infused cloth. Grants 10% protection from all magic and reduces magic usage by 30% when equipped)

This armor is better than my wet clothing and makes me a little more powerful let's not wait longer to get it on. After quickly peeling off his clothes he equips his new armor and then returns to handling his new items with excitement. "Next, let's look at the dagger."

[Hallowed Dagger Of Soul Leach]

(A sharp enchanted dagger used by warlocks to create soul stones. Does 10-22 damage on attack. The thin shape of this blade, as well as its serrated edge, gives it an 80% chance for the target to bleed. Bleed reduces all healing by 40% and does 5 damage per second. Killing blows have a 20% chance to create lesser soul stones from lesser souls. 5% chance to apply (cripple) slowing the target by 15% for 5 seconds.)

Damn that weapon seems excessive for a starter weapon although I'm too weak to attack up close so it's only useful to finish people off or to retaliate if I can't make space to use my spells it's far better than nothing. "Hmm, what's this orb for?"

[Orb of enhancements]

( The dark crystal-like orb is inscribed with simple yet captivating writing that glows red in the darkness giving 10% more shadow damage and reducing cast time for all Summon spells by 75% when held in hand.)

Oh so I hold this in my off-hand with the dagger to gain the passives that's cool 75% off my Summon cast time should be helpful. I wonder how the Summons work I know I have an imp I can Summon so I'll try that after I look at this black Potion the others are just basic healing Potions. After equipping the dagger on his belt he returns all objects to his inventory except a black-colored vial.

[Potion Of Eternal Magica]

( Potion made of pure magic drinking the flask will permanently increase your Mana by 100 points)

I'll just go ahead and drink this it's very useful. I don't want to take the chance of it breaking or somehow losing it. I'd be disappointed with myself if I lost it. Opening my mouth and letting the heavy black liquid flow down my throat trying my best to not gag from the flavor, I began to shimmer purple for a few moments before a vast amount of power surges out of my body filling me with energy and creating a deafening blast. The cave shutters in response to the explosion knocking me down as I receive a message.

Suddenly I hear splintering and creaking sounds from behind me. Quickly rising from the ground and turning towards the sound I see two red glowing eyes in the shadows of the deeper cave watching me. Upon making eye contact it suddenly leaps out from the shadows at me. I raise the corroded sword and swing the blade only for it to the unexpectedly splitter on the beasts festering flesh. The now visible beast pounces onto me showing its disgusting features. All that I can think of is the atrocious smell. The beast looks like a large decaying undernourished balding monkey without a nose and jaws that contain hundreds of razor-sharp teeth that threaten to end my presence with anguish. I kick the monster in the chest with all I can muster sending it slamming hard into the cave wall. I quickly un-sheath my dagger as the fiend quickly squirms to its feet seemingly unfazed. Shrieking and scrambling towards me once again somehow once within range I strafe to its left and kick the knee sideways shattering it with an audible crunch. Falling to the ground unable to get back on its feet I make a panicked plunge of my dagger into its nape. Like a razor through paper, the blade slips into its flesh spraying my face with cold and dark fluid. Its life fades away as it bleeds out rapidly and dark purple blood pools between the cleanly picked bones littering the ground. Moving to the cavern wall away from the corpse Williams's vision is assaulted by notifications.

Holding back the urge to vomit from the smell of the rotten shredder, His eyes start to water blurring his vision. A small notification pops up unobstructed by his watery eyes.

[Nontoxic poison detected]

[Paralysis toxin identified effective time 60min]

The adrenaline from his first battle begins to wear off sapping him of energy. Light-headedness takes over as the light within his eyes fades. His head drops down and conciseness slips from him. Leaving nothing but a timer slowly counting down in his head.

[Poisoned 59:34]

Outside the edge of the dark forest, a few chained children can be seen walking to the forest between a group of brown hooded men. One of the children in the back of the group trips and tumbles over a stick in their path. The hooded man behind him starts to yell and strike a small shackled boy. "Get up you stupid useless pile of crap keep walking or ill kill you here!..." The man angrily yells before kicking the kid in the face causing his nose and mouth to start bleeding. The young boy sobs quietly while slowly picking himself up off the hard ground and continuing to walk with the other children. Shortly after entering the forest, a loud rumble can be heard ahead of them a short distance away. The group promptly stops in their tracks and looks at their surroundings. After a brief time, one of the men utters "What was that... Why did it come from the direction we are heading in?" The other men then look at each other before the leader in the back speaks loud and harshly "Keep moving and shut your mouth you idiot it's getting dark we need to get to the feeding ground." After some time navigating through the forest, the group reaches a clearing with a small cavern in the center and big red glowing mushroom trees just outside its entrance. Nearing the cavern a sharp voice is heard from behind the men. "Release the children and I might imprison you instead of slaughtering you." Turning around the men are greeted by a middle-aged man in gray robes with his hand on the hilt of his well-kept blade. "Who are you how did you find us?" Asked one of the men. "What use is any of that he's going to die here anyway." Mocks one of the other men. "Oh, how I enjoy listening to the Gurgling of your shit-filled maws when you feel threatened" Laughed the gray-robed man with a twisted smirk on his face. "You 2 take the kids into the den and feed them to my pet then bring it out with you!" "You 3 join me in killing this arrogant swordsman," Says the leader to his lackeys. Quickly 2 the men grab the chained children and start to drag the children inside the cave as the children cry and scream for help from the gray-robed man. The other 3 men quickly draw their swords and step in front of their leader. "Last chance surrender or your heads will roll!" Yells the gray-robed man. Suddenly the leader pulls a ragged scroll and peels it open. A beam of soft blue light encircles the man before shooting out at the gray-robed man. Unprepared to avoid its pursuit it strikes him and chains fasten around his arms and legs before a box of energy surrounds him shutting him inside. "Hahahaa, that was way too easy." " Just like that your powerless?" laughed the leader of the men. Suddenly the cell shakes and starts to tear before fracturing away and dissolving into nothing freeing the man from the spell. Vanishing from his place the man appears beside the leader's lackeys unnoticed. Before they can acknowledge what just happened their heads slide from their shoulders making 3 dull thuds on the ground. The swordsmen vanished once again appearing behind the leader and swinging his sword in an attempt to behead his target. Before the blade reaches his flesh the leader suddenly flares up with flames sending the swordsman back a few feet avoiding the searing heat. "Did you think I'd be that easy to kill?" "My fire will devour you!" " What the hell is taking so long in there!" He silently cries out towards the cavern. Quickly changing into a reverse grip with his blade the Swordsmen crouched down and created an off-hand javelin from the earth with his magic. Now, dual-wielding the swordsman sprints forward as a blur at the black-clothed man. "Fuck Off!" Yells the Leader as he molds a Fireball into a molten bolder before sending it towards the swordsman at a hasty pace detonating it causing a large fiery explosion and scorching a large area of ground. Avoiding the fire and leaping into the air the Swordsmen launches his stone javelin at the legs of the man. Upon impact it impales the man's right leg penetrating the ground below, an eruption of the earth and flesh occurs rending both legs up to his hip. "AHHHH!" he screams in agony as his legs are eradicated to a crimson mist. After a sudden flash of light, his head hits the ground as the stumps spill even more blood coloring the soil red. "I wonder if the Shredder ate his men maybe that's why no one came out... either way, It needs to die it's part of my contract." The mans face suddenly becomes gloomy."Oh god I overlooked the children!..." he shrieks in dismay before swiftly delving into the soggy cave.
