Chapter 15 - To feel alive 6.3

I close my eyes. (Okay. So, first things first. Mom imprinted the basics of mana manipulation in my memories... This should work.) I open my eyes again, to see the woman staring at me again. "What?" I use all my might to raise my right arm. (Even this hurt like hell.)

I close and open my right hand. "You want something?" Close, open, close open... "I don't know what you want little one..." She looks around. She obviously couldn't figure out what I wanted.

(You hand! I need your hand!) "Ha-ada! Ha-ada!" She started panicking. "Please, I don't know what you want... Hey, I'm not your mother, if you want milk..." (...Really?) Maybe because of the face I made, or because her assumption was just too dumb, she blushed in embarrassment. Open, close, open.

"Han-da! Han-da!" (Argh... Hand, hand!) "Han-da... Hand?" (Yes!) I nod repeatedly. Open. She raises one of her hands and touches mine. My little hand couldn't fit her hand, so she used her little finger. (What a slender finger... And she is really cold. Is it normal?)

I close my hand and the grip on her finger tightened. She smiled from ear to ear. Her eyes show that something was lifted from her shoulders. "Strong... Good thing you're healthy." She sighed and closed her eyes. She was sleeping with a smile on her face. (Sleep well. I'll thank you later.)

With her asleep, I had nothing else to focus on besides casting the spell. The spell itself doesn't have a name because it is too simple... Well, simple for the god standard. But at any rate, the spell is simple. It creates a link between two or more beings, that can be alive or dead. With the link, their thoughts will be connected.

This spell is commonly used on large armies when the commander needs to pass orders fast. Another use is the most practical when two persons do not understand each other by language. Hold her finger tightly.

Nothing. I did as my memory says, but nothing happened. I try again... Nothing. (Hm... 'If it is your first time casting a spell, you'll need to use an object to intermediate the mana flow.' An object... I don't see anything that I can use. Dammit.) I look around for the first time.

We were in a small... hut? The floor is straw over dirt, the walls are made of wooden boards, some missing. As for the roof, straw again. The only odd thing is that there isn't a door or any windows. (Quite the poor place. Oh, its day time.) Her hug was tight, even if I want to free myself and wander around, she won't let me.

(Wait... What an 'object' means? A rod or something like that, or anything is fine? My memories don't say anything about it. Let's see... Blood. Blood!) I move her finger near my mouth. I open my mouth and I bite her with all my might. And... (I don't have teeth yet. Right...) Her finger was wet with my saliva. (Maybe with my nails?) I carve my nails on her finger. But nothing happened, actually, I ended up surprised. (Is she made of steel? Her flesh doesn't even move...) "...Hm?" I look up to see that she is awake.
