The campfire lets out crackling sounds while the air is filled with the pork-like smell of the grilled wolf-rat.
Now that the sun is gone from the sky, they don't have to worry about getting burned by the sun anymore.
Desia stand up and stretch his back, saying
"Ahhhh, that took more time than I expected. Let's go wash while the dinner is cooking.".
Adrin smiles and remark
"How about you Chamnan? Do you want to come with us?".
Chamnan shake his head and replies
"Nah, Someone has to make sure that we don't accidentally burn half of our food supplies. You two should go take a bath, I will watch the food...".
Then Chamnan nervously says
"...After I go relive myself behind that bush. I will be back here as soon as possible, and I will stay close to the camp.".
Adrin then remark
"Just be quick and don't linger too long. We don't know what kind of creature lurks in the dark.".
Desia then jokingly says
"oooooh spooky, Are you sure you want to go alone? We don't go with you to watch your back.".
Chamnan raise his brow and replies
"And watch me piss? Nah. I can handle myself just fine. I will shout for help if I'm in danger. Just go relax and don't worry about me.".
Chamnan then heads into the jungles to do his business, leaving Adrin and Desia together. The two head toward the beach, while Adrin taking off his shirt, saying
"Ahh, My shirt is all bloody. I hope I can wash all this blood off.".
The two stop at the beach while Desia says
"I don't see any problem with that. even if the stain won't come off, you have already washed the church and it is clean. You can think of them as a dye. Or you can just ditch the shirt altogether. I never get why you people like them so much.".
Adrin then remark
"I just like how I feel when I wear it. It kind of feel like having a blanket on my back.".
Desia nod and take off his pant, saying
"oh, so that's why you wear a shirt eh? I tried it once and it just feels like a hindrance.".
Adrin take off his pant and remark
"Let us get in the water already.".
They take off their underpants and get in the water. They submerge their body into water, which is still slightly warm. The water is deep enough for them to sit and wash. That spot is surrounded by some rocks formation that protects them from the danger that lurks in the open water.
"Adrin... Tell me. Do you think we can survive this island and leave? Be honest with me here. I can accept any answer."
Desia asked Adrin, who replies
"I think we can survive and live on this island if we work hard enough. But I don't know about leaving... just look at the horizon.".
Both of them turn to look at the darkened horizon. Where they can see flashes of lighting from among the dark cloud.
"There is something unnatural about the sea that surround these islands. I have heard many tales of the accursed sea, where the storm never end, and sea monster lurks. And you have already seen what it did to the Stormbreaker."
Adrin said. Desia went quiet for a bit, then he says
"If even the Stormbreaker fail to survive the accursed sea, how can we ever hope of escaping this place on a raft...".
Adrin nods with a serious expression, then he replies
"Exactly... We can't just build a raft and leave. And there aren't going to be any ships that may visit this island. I hate to admit this, but we are stuck on this island. I'm sorry.".
Desia stares at the serious-looking Adrin. then Desia splashes some water at him saying
"What are you apologizing for? Snap out of it! The one that is going to be mad at you is Chamnan, he's serious about leaving this island. But for me, I don't mind as long as I'm not alone.".
Adrin raises his brow and leans his head. Then he remarks
"Wait... I don't get it. I'm the one who gets all three of us stranded on this island. That is why I thought you guys should be mad at me...".
Desia smiles and tells him
"Listen to me, Chamnan would have died or ended up on this island alone if we didn't do anything to try and save him. Good friends never leave friends behind. I know you were trained to be cautious and assume for the worse. but sometimes, You just need to look on the bright side of things. ".
Adrin stare at Desia and remarks
"I'm sorry for being such a downer. But are you telling me that you aren't bothered by the fact that we might be stuck for the rest of our life?".
Desia shrug and replies
"I was born on a small island, that island used to be what I know as the entire world. Then I meet you on that faithful day. I still remember how you just calmly sit at that beach and fish. The point is, this island isn't too different from where I came from. But the thing it has better than my home island is that I get to be with my friends.".
Adrin smiles and says
"Thanks, Desia. I understand you better now. But for me, the Stormbreaker is my home. For my entire life, I grew up on that ship and travel all over the east sea. But now I'm stuck here, on this one island. It's not like I don't like you or anything, but I can't see all three of us spending the rest of our life without meeting any other people.".
Desia his back on a rock, then he remarks
"Yeah... This new life on this island would be a lot better if there are women on this island. I would have nothing to complain about at all if that is the case... ".
Adrin chuckle a bit and replies
"Wow, what a standard. But I can't fault you for that. I do think that thing would be a lot merrier if there are more people with us.".
Adrin then look up at the stars above and says
"I'm not going to give up yet. We will survive this island and we will escape it. One way or another.",
Desia smiles and says
"And I will help you as much as I can. If I got stuck here then I'm fine, but if I can leave this island with you then I will go with you.".
Adrin turn to look Desia in the eyes, then he says
"Thank you, I wish I could be half as optimistic as you. But I appreciate your support. For now let us relax and stop worrying about anything.".
Desia mischievously smiles and replies
"You are the only one worrying too much here, man. Just chill and go with the flows, that's what my dad used to say. I'm sure an opportunity will come eventually. We just have to stay alive long enough to see it.".
Adrin nod and answer
"I will remember that piece of advice from now on. We are going to go explore the jungles again tomorrow. I hope we will be more ready this time.....".
