(pov Escanor)
After my special time with Salem and the others, a few days passed. During this time I kept myself busy trying to master my poison creation ability. In the show, CoaCoa could create just about any kind of toxin. Not only that but he could harden them and make them stronger than steel for the most part. Until now I never tried to do that since they were more useful as liquids and gas.
Even since I started to practice there was one truth I discovered. This shit is absurdly hard to do. When I watched the anime CoaCoa made it sound like breathing but the fucker undersold it. To be honest it never occurred to me how hard anime characters train to master their powers. My sound powers came more naturally since I could rely on my ears.
Raven:Professor Sword I was wondering if you had tips to help me with the spring maiden. I have tried everything but she can't seem to shake her fear.
Hearing her question I broke out of my thoughts and looked up at Raven. I could easily tell from the bugs under her eyes she was quite stressed. If memories serve me correctly in RWBY Raven killed the spring maiden because of how weak she was. In Raven's head, she was doing the poor girl a favor. Though looking at her now I think what happened was Raven snapped. After spending time with her I know Raven hates people without any resolve.
Escanor:Listen Raven there isn't any answer to your question then be patient.
Raven:I get that back the look in her eyes is just painful.
Escanor:How about this I will watch her for a week and you take a break to recharge your batteries.
Raven accepted my offer before walking out of the office. Too bad I didn't know then that some cannon events were unavoidable.
(Pov Raven)
When my clan first sent Qrow and me to beacon I believed there was no way I could be discovered. Since the day I entered things have pretty much gone my way. I trained hard and fulfilled any mission until finally, I was in Ozpin's inner circle. After finding out the truth I was a little rattled but there was hope.
For Salem to destroy the world she would need to get the power of each maiden. That being the case you can imagine the pressure I felt when Ozpin assigned me to protect one. The girl was afraid of everything which makes sense if you think about her circumstances. That's why I tried to train her to better protect herself.
Unfortunately no matter what I tried wasn't improving and just complained the whole time. I asked Sword for help because maybe I was doing something wrong. Too bad didn't have any advice for me except be patient. Time went by before finally I couldn't take it anymore. During one of our training sessions, she was complaining normally but said something I couldn't forgive.
Spring maiden:Why don't you lighten up you know being too serious can scare guys off.
Hearing what she said I snapped and ended up killing her. There was a silver lining in the form of my getting her powers. Once again my bad luck screwd me over because Ozpin didn't agree it was a good thing. It wasn't long before he sent out huntsmen to capture. This included my team so I could only run. At first, I thought about asking Sword for help but I didn't want to ruin cinders life. Run as best I could until they finally cornered me.
Summer:Raven please just let us catch you and maybe Ozpin will listen to your side of the story.
I looked at Summer who is probably the nicest person I know pleading. Ever since I joined the team, Summer, Summer has been the one I got along best with. She even knows about my crush on Sword so you can imagine the pain I was feeling. As I looked at my former teammates surrounding me I fought back my tears.
Raven:Guess I should have seen this coming a long time ago.
Right, when I was about to give myself up the engine of a motorcycle came from the distance. I froze in shock seeing the golden knight protecting me. The others were just as shocked as I was.
Tai:Well I guess today is a two-for-one special lucky us.
Escanor:Kid trusts me you would need about half of old Ozpin's experience to have a chance. More importantly, Little lady did you get to say your goodbyes?
As he said that the golden knight turned his head toward me. I stared into his eye which for some reason made me feel safe. Before I knew it my body moved on its own and got on the back seat of the bike. Once I was safely on he looked back at Tai and the others.
Escanor:Hey blonde do me a favor and deliver a message for me to Ozpin. Tell him that he doesn't need to worry Salem found herself a real man so she will be busy for a while.
Leaving those words we sped off fast than anything I have seen before. While we were driving my mind had to wonder and started to notice how he felt familiar. I couldn't put my finger on it but something about him reminded me of Escanor.
Raven:So are you going to explain why Salem's right hand would save me?
Escanor:Now that is a silly question why wouldn't a teacher want to save his precious student?
As he said that his armor disappeared revealing the last person I expected. With his usual spike black hair and honey-brown eyes and confident smile. My jaw dropped to the floor in pure shock at the revelation that Escanor was the golden knight. He only showed an amused smile like someone who successfully pulled a prank.
