Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Light pierced through his closed eyes as Luke awoke. His arm was no longer broken and he was covered in blood. A thought passed through his mind as he silently rose from his stupor, how did no one on the street hear all the screeches of the rats? Acting on this thought he looked out of the alley and his eyes caught sight of the carnage and destruction before him. Large dog like creatures roamed the streets, corpses lay on the floor no longer troubled with life, shops were broken into and set on fire.

The civilisation that had abused him had gone to shit. It was all he ever asked for. A slight grin creeped onto his face.

Now that he finally came to his senses he noticed the masses of pop ups that were in the corner of his vision.

Luke dismissed the messages and began to look at himself. Miraculously, his broken arm had fixed itself and his cuts disappeared, despite being covered in gore Luke could see that even his bruises had disappeared.

As he was observing his body, a growl sounded out from behind him. Ahh fuck, not again. Although he was 16, he was beaten everyday so his body wasn't in the best shape. The constant work of slashing and smacking really wore out his body.

Luke turned his head to face a large wolf like creature, it had white fur with a long black streak running down the side of it and hot red blood seeped from its open maws. Luke grabbed his blade and faced the wolf, noticing the durability of the weapon he inwardly cursed.

[Extremely dented knife]

Durability: 1/10

Damage: 1~10

If he used this it could break during the fight and it would mean a sudden disadvantage. He knew he had to dispose of it, with most of his strength he threw the knife.

"Clang"

He missed.

The wolf slowly progressed towards him, ready to attack. Luke backed up towards the end of the alley, he knew there was no escape he was just trying to find something to attack the wolf with. Something caught his eye, it was a long pipe attached to the wall. Quickly, he ripped it from the dilapidated bricks and wielded with both hands like a sword.

"Grrrr" the wolf was ready to pounce. It put all of its weight on its back legs and leapt. The bloodthirsty wolf whistled through the air like an arrow, Luke planted the pole into a gap in the concrete ground and hid behind it. Unable to stop its trajectory, the wolf landed throat first onto the metal pole. It clawed at Luke as its life ebbed away, with one final rage it but through the metal and swung its paws.

A large claw sliced through Luke's skin and opened his arm, exposing the muscle and bone beneath it. Suddenly Luke heard a ping

[You have killed a Lv16 Juvenile Beta Wolf]

[Level Up!]

He was filled with relief but it was soon replaced with agony as the adrenaline wore off. He looked at his open arm and noticed his skin twitching. The edges of were his skin was ripped open were stretching, expanding and attempting to cover his wound. Luke sat examining this phenomenon whilst also keeping look out for more wolves. After 2 hours his cut looked almost non existent, the only remnants was Luke's memory.

Feeling slightly relaxed he decided to open his status.

[Quests: 2]

Seeing he had 27 free stats Luke felt elated. Feeling he had always been unlucky in life he put 15 of the stats into Luck and divided the rest of the stats between Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Endurance. Luke didn't play many video games but he knew that putting all his stats in one physical or mental stat was a bad idea this early on.

With 27 points, Luke deduced that with each Level he gained 3 stat points and that just stats were definitely impacted by his Titles. He believed that a normal person would have a strength of 10 and a bodybuilder roughly 14, but due to his titles he was much stronger that anyone else.

Noticing the quests icon, he mentally clicked on it.

Luke didn't care for the Survival quest because he had done that his whole life and didn't need a bright blue box to tell him to do it. But the second quest piqued his interest, he had first killed a Domain Lord when that massive rat tried to enter his alleyway. That was extremely difficult and the only reason he could do it was due to the rat being stuck in the portal.

But he had to do this in order to survive, Luke no longer wanted to be under people's control. He wanted to thrive and defeat those that stood against his goals.

With that thought he grasped his metal pole and headed towards the exit of the alleyway and onto the street, he would fight for supremacy and no one could stop the carnage he was willing to create
