The signal indicated to cross the road. Mantisha quickened her pace as she thought to use this time wisely. He would appear again, she could tell that it was more like a challenge than a threat. Mantisha thought that she had to move out, as soon as possible.
That person seemed to be persistent, and he even warned her to hide her tail well. That meant he knew about her, and he approached her with purpose. He did not bother to hide that from her, that meant he was confident, not to mention, dangerous.
Mantisha was lost in her mind as she walked. As she waa crossing the road slowly, she did not notice the signal turned again and a car from another side rushed towards her.
As the constant loud honks entered into her ear and the bright light fell upon her face, almost blinding her, she came out from her trance.
As she looked at the rushing car, trying hard to brake, her entire body trembled. Even before the car got closed to her, she fell down on the road, and closed her eyes in panic.
With a loud, ear piercing sound, the car stopped just a few centimetres away from her body. The other cars stopped as well.
People who were present around, as well as the driver jumped out from the pilot seat and came only to see the tire almost hit her legs.
Covering her face, the little girl was shaking uncontrollably. It seemed like she was crying, and she got really scared.
But as someone realised her breathing was getting heavier by each second, he screamed to call police, as well as paramedics.
Two pair of long legs came out from the each side of the car. The one with pink suit on ran to the other side to help the other one to come out and both of them made their way into the crowd.
A few women present there tried to coax her to move her hands from her face, to convince her that she was okay.
Slowly she removed her hands from her tear strained face as she continued to sob harder. The man with pink suit on muttered in awe, "Little stupid girl!"
The driver leaned over to ask her if she was okay or not but he got stunned when he listened what was she murmuring in a daze.
The man in a pink suit looked at the man beside him in a lightening speed, "Second Brother..."
Hearing his words, that man's face turned into several shades of black instantly. Shaking of his hands, he roared, "Paul."
The driver shook at his roar, but he was more afraid of what he was going to say now.
"Young Master, she is... Pregnent!"
Steven's face lost it's colour.
"What?" Andrew could not help but ask. "She... Hell! No! Well, it can be, but when?"
Steven gritted his teeth. This scene, seemed familiar, very very familiar. But...
He pushed the people in front of him and squatted down in front of her.
In a daze, Mantisha saw a blurred face coming near her. She felt like she knew him for a long long time. She closed her eyes again and sobbed harder.
She was afraid of opening her eyes as she was seeing blood everywhere. A few moments ago, she sensed a warm liquid flowing between her legs and the piercing pain in her leg and stomach were screaming that her leg seemed distorted and her baby... was gone!
The tearing pain in her chest came back and she felt like her head was splitting in two. She huffed in the pain she was feeling all over her body, as she put one of her trembling hands on her belly protectively and stretched out the other hand to grab the seemingly familiar ones and muttered with the last bit of rationality and willpower,
"Save... Save the baby... Save my baby!"
Just as she said this, her head tilted to a side and she fainted on the road.
Steven was fast enough to grab her head before it touched the ground, as well as Paul protected her shoulders before those crash on the road.
The whistle of the ambulance and the patrolling car could be heard. People started whispering in confusion, not understanding what should they inform the paramedics.
With a frosty plastered all over his face, with a low voice which sounded like a storm, he asked,
"Is there any sign of internal injury?"
Paul was stunned to her his voice. Even before he could reply, Andrew said, "No!"
"Any signs of miscarriage?" On the last part of the words, Steven's frosty voice trembled a little.
Andrew hurriedly said, "Not really."
As the Ambulance stopped in front of the crowd and the footsteps of paramedics and police rushed towards them, Steven hissed, "Investigate."

On the VIP ward of the City Life hospital:
A petite body way lying on the bed. She seemed so pale, so lifeless that it seemed like she was almost a part of that bed sheet. She was sleeping soundly as it seemed like sleeping medicine worked well on her body. She was still on IV drips.
The door cracked open as Paul walked in. The heavy sounds of footsteps stopped in front of Andrew.
Not to mention Paul, but also Andrew were afraid of approaching Steven right now.
He was standing still near the glass window, facing the city lights. His face unwavering, his body seemed unyeilding to any worldly pressure.
Sensing both of them were silent, he uttered,
"Speak."
Paul gulped by the pressure his voice created. He could feel coldness dripping out from it. Andrew almost cursed him for still being silent and nudged his ribs with his elbow.
