Her eyes were half closed, cheeks red and a constant smile was lingering on her face. Clearly in pleasure, she seemed like an innocent girl who got drunk for first time ever, trying to dance her heart out but could hardly move, and throwing her fists not knowing how to dance.
Looking at her, Herbert's eyes darkened.
"Dang!"
Herbert sat there and continued to observe her for a while. She didn't seem like someone who cared about her surroundings even a little and it seemed kike she was emerged in her own world of happiness.
A guy suddenly approached her while dancing. She smiled at him and danced along with his steps. She did not mind him dancing with her untill his hands approach her back. Herbert looked at her face and saw that furrowing her brows she flinched a little. His eyes darkened.
Just as the guy took one step closer to her, a hand came in front of him. He looked at his side only to discover a tall figure standing with a cold expression on.
"You've danced for long enough hon', time to go and rest for a while now."
With shocking expression on her face, that girl looked at his figure in awe, then looked back at the guy who was dancing with her, then looked back at him again. Suddenly she smiled sweetly. Under the influence of alcohol and the mystic appearance of the lights and music, her smile seemed so dazzling, yet so innocent that Herbert was stunned for a moment.
"Oops! I mistook him as you. Let's go and grab a drink." She said quite coquettishly.
"Sorry bro. Take your girl." That guy shrugged his shoulders and entered into the crowd again.
Herbert was speechless. Just how did he and that son of a jerk seem alike! Even if everything was unnoticed, his height could stand alone.
"Are you planning on staying on the dance floor like this? My hills are hurting. Let's go. If not, I'm going." Saying this, that girl left the dance floor. Herbert clenched his teeth and went right behind her.
"You seemed to be okay with random people dancing with you." Herbert could not help but asking. It would be a lie if it were to tell that he was not pissed to see that man approaching her.
That girl looked at him as she made her comfortable on the seat in front of the bar table. She was silent for a while, then replied, "And what's wrong with that?"
Herbert became speechless for a moment. Then told her, "Nothing. It could be dangerous."
"Everything can be dangerous. Dancing with a stranger, sitting with an unknown man in a bar and drinking." Saying this she cocked her eyebrows and ordered for a lime soda.
"You want anything? My treat."
Herbert became speechless again as he suspected anything was wrong with this girl. It was the first time some random girl wanted to give him, the famous Second Young Master Black, a treat!
"I'm not used to girls treating me." He said back as the girl scoffed.
"So patriarchal!"
"Or you can say it just, chivalry?"
That girl rolled her eyes and pretended like she was going to vomit.
"So, can I get the honour to know your name?"
"Just some random chick you crossed path with. No need to bother for details."
Herbert looked at her with pure amusement. This was completely new to him. Almost every girl he encountered threw themselves towards him but here she was, not even giving him a single glance.
"I guess you already know mine, right?" Furrowing his brows, Herbert asked.
This time, that girl looked at him back as she cocked one of her arched eyebrows.
"You bet, Second Young Master Black."
"This is cheating. You know mine, I don't know yours." Herbert said playfully but that girl only smiled in response.
"Come on!" He insisted but again, she did not tell anything but pushed a glass of lime soda to him too. Herbert looked at her passing him a drink and just as he was taking the first sip she told, "Are you sure that I did not spike it?"
Herbert almost spit out the sip he took and started coughing. Looking at his flustered face she started to laugh hard.
"Oh my god! You are so cute!" That girl commented while laughing her heart out. Herbert became embarrassed. Not only he got tricked but also was laughed by a girl he took an interest on. But a sudden realisation made him uncomfortable.
"I've heard countless compliments till date but this is something new. Never thought I have to hear that I'm CUTE!"
That girl looked at him as she suppressed her laughter.
"Just how did you get to manage your ways into this society till today, even got the title of the 'Bestest Flirt of the City'! You are no naïve! You were so emerged in things that you did not even notice if I spiked your drink or not. What if I really did? Or what if here were someone else?"
Herbert thought he would be impatient as she was dragging the matter of telling her name for so long but he got shocked after realising that he had started growing interested in her. His eyes darkened as she continued.
"Just how many times you got tricked and settled huhh?" She said with a half smile.
"Will you believe if I tell not even once?" He said with a horace voice.
That girl looked at him again and then sighed. She could not help but to feel that even if he was a playboy, he was not still matured enough.
"Mark my words. If you want to stand strong in this society, you must need to be alert even when you sleep. Otherwise, you would not like the way people will lead to you or when the things change."
Saying this she called the bar attender and took out her card. Then looked at him and smiled.
"My treat."
Herbert looked at her in a daze. Somehow, she managed to spat out the words that bothered him since his childhood. When he saw her getting up and preparing to leave, he came to his senses. He grabbed her arm and asked,
"Just who are you? Atleast, let me know your name."
That girl stopped her movements and looked at his eyes as she replied,
"Evelyn."
