Chapter 50 - Don't Let It Die Down

Back in the present:

"Be it about the article or the future you are worrying, I am sure help will come in time."

Mantisha did not understand how can everything be resolved this fast. It just happened in a lightening speed after her conversation with Albert.

She was shocked to see the proximity of it. It seemed that it just happened so fast that for a split second she thought it was done by Albert, himself.

But almost immediately she declined the idea. Albert was still in the campus, he was also with her just a while ago. Besides how could he manipulate the public opinion any why!

'Did he know anything about me? Oh sh*t!' Mantisha kept looking towards the way of Albert's departure. The idea of getting discovered by an influential person like him made her blood frozen.

After a while she calm down a little. She knew that it was inevitable from the moment she saw the Black cousins there, on the party. But still, the idea of getting discovered by one of her old acquaintances made her blood turn cold.

Mantisha looked towards the strawberry flavoured mill shake at her hand. Her fingers slightly turning stiff around it. It would not be a lie if it was said that she was a little moved. He seemed to know that she was from a tropical area, so she was not habituated with the cold of this A Country. She could not understand if he randomly picked a milk shake of normal temperature or it was a deliberate attempt. She could not consider him as her friend, they were not even close. But this was something that even Judy forgot time to time. Little gestures like this warm her heart. But...

She scratched the back of her head out of nervousness, as she thought, 'He... Doesn't seem like spilling the beans over the floor, right?'

She looked back at her cellphone and saw people commenting like crazy. Some of them claiming that the Cinderella must be an unfavoured princess of a noble family from China. Some claiming she must be too powerful to appear in a party on foreign country alone. Some assuming there must be a background story that nobody quite knew. In short, all of the comments was now far from the truth and far away from finding her.

'I hope, this time will be an exception. I hope, this time, he won't disappoint me.' Mantisha pursed her lips as she went for her class.

Top Floor, Roy's Food and Hotel Chains Headquarters

"This is the reports you have asked to prepare." Arthur put a bunch of documents on the table of Adi. He started preparing to report about the matters which were set for today's agenda.

"Wait." Just as he was going to start reporting, a cold, grim voice interrupted his words midway.

"What about the matter I asked you to do?"

Adi moved his eyes from the desktop's screen and looked at Arthur's face straight.

His cold, distant eyes with unwavering attitude gave a chill to Arthur. But somehow he managed to gulp down the feeling of being suppressed. Then he opened his mouth.

"Ah I forgot to mention. It's done for now. Our public relation team is dealing with it. As far as I know, they found two girls, worked at yesterday's party and made one of them stated that somehow she was a person with a noble background and she might be was a foreigner. Then the other stated that she heard her saying that she was surnamed Shen. Then they pinned both of the comments and like how's everything going, everybody seems to be busy with shortlisting some young missies from the Shen families from China. In short, the public focus is now shifted."

"Perfect." A slight hint of a sly smirk appeared on Adi's lips, as he ordered, "Make sure that this won't reach to Sylvia and don't make any official statements."

"Sure Sir." Arthur replied in an instance. He was already doing it anyway.

"And don't let the rumours die down for a few days either."

Arthur's mouth went agape. What was gis boss saying! He thought that Adi wanted everything to be resolved and he hated public discussions and gossips about him or his company. But now, why did he seem suspicious!

"This..." Arthur coud not find anymore words to say, so he just bit the inside of his lower lip as he looked at Adi with confused eyes.

"What? Any problem with that?" Adi seemed to restrain himself again as he looked at him back with same nonchalant attitude as earlier.

"No no. Nothing." Arthur gulped down his saliva as he cursed himself in his mind.

'Datn it! Why was I even hesitating!' Arthur sighed in frustration. Adi might seem to be all calm and composed but he knew better than anyone, when the time approached, how scary he could be. He had witnessed him being like a almighty and predict everything beforehand from the first place.

Arthur just shook his head and then he started reporting about the company affairs again.
