When I came to, Sol was drooping limply forward. I pulled him to my chest, aware that I had been holding him rather firmly before the pungent smell of blood tickled my nose. My heart began to race as I narrowed my eyes and dug one of my hands into the other to keep my stability of mind.

Who's blood is it? If it's mine... I shouldn't be feeling this excited by it would I? Have I been so starved from it for so long that I am lusting after my own blood?

"Ngh... Sol... Are you awake?" I shake him with a little too much vigor as I watched him groan in pain yet fail to open his eyes. I frowned and took a moment to glance around, trying to regain my bearings and search for any important landmark but failed to locate any.
