Lorelei could feel the air bubble in her throat upon hearing what Jace said.

"Pffft," she snorted. "Seriously, Jacey. What's up with you? Have you gone nuts?" Lorelei laughed. Her eyes smiled like crescent moons while laughing. And strangely enough, she somewhat felt… happy?
Gosh. Hearing him compliment me for the first time on his own accord really sounded funny. I wasn't expecting this at all.
Jace just shot daggers in her direction. "Why? Did I say something funny?"
"Yes!" Lorelei was still laughing nonstop. "You caught me by surprise there, huh. My gosh," she added when her laughter started subsiding. "You didn't have to make such silly remarks, you know. I mean, all you have said to me all this time were either insults or half-assed compliments. Oh, wait. Is it also like that? You seemed serious when saying it, though," she cocked her head.
