The sun was still up and shining brightly, totally natural for a sunny afternoon. Jace was already on his way home this early, which is not like him in every way. He doesn't usually go home around this time since he chooses to stay on the campus until the sunsets.
And since he was already heading home, he bought stuff for Lorelei in the convenience store. Some energy drinks, jelly, pudding, saltine crackers, and everything else that one could think of to feed someone sick. He stared at the big bag with the food he was carrying. "What the hell am I even doing?" he slumped his shoulders. He bought so much, but he wasn't sure whether Lorelei could already eat. But oh well, it's the thought that counts, right? She would, no, she should still appreciate his actions even if she can't eat all of them right away.
