Someone placed their hand on my shoulder and shook me gently. I opened them to see a woman. I smiled at her and was about ask her something when she stepped aside and I saw him. I jumped up as though I had caught fire. He laughed menacingly. I backed away till my back touched the wall. I asked him, "Why are you doing this? This is wrong. I am a widow remember? You have no right to do this"
He acted as though he had picked up the grocery, "Please your husband has been dead for five years now. You can move on. Besides I know your in laws were about to talk you into it. I just saved them the chat."
He got up and picked up a white dress and walked towards me with purpose. After close inspection, I realized it was a wedding gown. I was still groggy from whatever I had drugged with. I just shook my head. He placed it on the bed and walked out. He called out to someone and asked for an ETA. He was told the guy will be here in twenty minutes. Those were the best words I heard all week. I got up but had no strength to run so he picked me and I passed out.
