Dashing through the alleyway that has gradually grown silent, Pro's vigilance grew as he pulled up his DADA spellbook in his system interface. Suddenly, the panting Hermione almost tripped, but Pro held her up in time. Just when Pro was about to pull Hermione to keep running, a trail of black mist funneled down in front of them and the dark wizard in a mask appeared in front of them!
Without any hesitation, Pro activated the spell that he had already readied himself to cast at any moment, "Expelliarmus!"
With his hand aimed forward, the wand in the hands of the dark wizard was sent flying as if an invisible force struck it from Pro's outreached hands. The dark wizard froze in shock for a moment as if not believing what happened, giving enough time for Pro to activate his second spell, "Petrificus Totalus!"
The body of the dark wizard suddenly stiffened as his arms and legs snapped together. However, Pro could see the dark wizard's body twitching as if to resist the curse!
Without hesitation, Pro pounced forward as he clenched his fist. His body automatically moved into the correct form using his instincts and his fist slammed forward as he felt the wind brush against his arms.
BAM!
A solid hit landed on the dark wizard's stomach as Pro saw a damage splat of 4 overlay over the dark wizard's body. The dark wizard's stiff body was launched backwards a couple of steps and tumbled onto the ground as Pro heard a grunt of pain.
Grabbing Hermione's hand, Pro pulled her to continue to run, "Let's go!"
Leaping over towards the dark wizard laying on the ground, Pro gave the man a stomp on his face and another full body binding curse before he continued forward. Pro also happily picked up the dark wizard's wand that fell nearby before dashing away.
Although the dark wizard will probably break free from the curse soon enough, he won't be able to do much without his wand. Pro only hopes that he won't be sued for stealing other wizard's private property.
Traversing through the alleyway, Pro returned to the bustling streets of London. Sirens were heard from afar as the pedestrians continued on their way with worried faces. Glancing back and seeing no one chasing them, Pro breathed a sigh of relief as he stashed the wand inside his pockets.
Pro led the way forward and mixed into the bustling crowds. It didn't take long for Pro find his way back to the Leaky Cauldron with the pale-faced Hermione.
Standing in a corner while waiting for daddy Joseph, Pro finally turned towards the trembling Hermione and gave her a hug to assure her, "Everything will be alright."
Hermione tightened her arms around Pro and Pro heard sniffs coming from her as she buried her face against his neck. The poor girl must have been frightened. Pro gently stroked her head to calm her down as he hugged her still trembling body.
It didn't take long for daddy Joseph to appear with a smile on his face. He then glanced at Pro and the crying Hermione before his face turned grim, "Lil Pro, what happened?"
Pro took out the wand he picked up from his pocket and handed it to Joseph. Joseph stared at the wand in confusion before he muttered, "This isn't your wand. Where did you get this?"
"We were on our date in the Muggle world nearby. We bumped into some kidnappers with a gun so we had to escape," Pro began his story.
"Wait!? That was you two? I heard there was a shooting nearby! Oh my lord, are you two alright?! Beatrice will kill me if she found out that I let you two get hurt!"
"No, we are alright. They seemed to have came especially for us, but we escaped from the kidnappers by running through an alley."
"Phew. Good job, lil Pro. You had daddy worried for a moment. Still, to come for you two ..." Joseph fell into deep thoughts as a frown appeared on his face.
After a couple moments of silence, he then looked back at the wand before questioning, "Let's skip the topic of your pursuers for now. Tell me where you got this wand lil Pro. You know that wands are considered the personal property of wizards and you can be tried for taking it."
"Well. We were escaping into the alley when we bumped into two wizards with masks. Probably dark wizards. We ran pass them, and they killed our pursuers with the killing curse. One of them died to the kidnappers' gun, and the other came after us. I managed to disarm him in time and knock him down. So, I took his wand to prevent him from harming us further," Pro told the story as quick as possible.
Joseph's mouth gawked open for a while before he stuttered, "Wait .... dark wizard? Killing curse? What?"
"Father, we shouldn't worry about that right now. You know the laws of underage magic. I happen to have left my wand at home so I'm fine, but Hermione brought her wand. Perhaps the Ministry's warning letter is already on its way to Hermione. Father, is there any thing you can do?"
Hearing this, Hermione trembled a bit and looked up towards Joseph with puffy eyes. Joseph froze for a moment before his face turned grim. He then ruffled Pro's head as he stated, "Don't worry lil Pro. Daddy will take care of it. Daddy won't let lil Hermione get wrongly blamed. You also brought back the wand of the caster which will help. Lil Hermione, let me borrow your wand as well."
Hermione nodded as she pulled out her wand and handed it to Joseph. Joseph nodded and kept both of the wands. He then commanded, "Follow me. We're going to the Ministry of Magic."
Joseph then led the way into the Leaky Cauldron as Pro followed behind while gently pulling a tear-stained Hermione along.
"Tom, we need to use your fireplace," Joseph stated and got a nod in response from the bartender.
Turning towards the two children, Joseph strictly warned, "We will use the Floo Network to get to the Ministry of Magic. Remember, you must say the words clearly and concisely. Don't make any errors. I'll be waiting for you on the other side. Tom, help them a bit please."
Tom nodded as he continued to watch. Joseph tossed some powder into the fireplace and the fire turned green. Joseph then stepped into it and stated, "Ministry of Magic".
Whoosh. Joseph disappeared in a burst of fire. It was a bit intimidating, but Pro knew he should be fine. Grasping Hermione's hand, Pro gave her a small tug forward.
"Hermione, you first. I'll be right behind you, so don't be scared. My brave and smart Hermione is strong. Everything will be alright. Trust me," Pro comforted as he gently wiped away the tears on her face.
After waiting for Hermione to calm down, Pro nodded and handed some powder to Hermione as he said, "Remember to say it clearly. I believe you can do it."
Hermione nodded as she tossed powder into the fireplace. She stepped in and clearly called out, "Ministry of Magic."
Whoosh. Hermione disappeared in the next moment. Pro sighed and grabbed some powder himself. He gave Tom the bartender a nod before he also stepped into the fireplace, "Ministry of Magic."
Whoosh! Pro felt his surroundings distort and before he knew it, he found himself staring out at a new area. Pro saw daddy Joseph and Hermione outside so he hurriedly stepped out. With a glance, Pro found himself in a large atrium with a black brick design. There were many active fireplaces with wizards and witches stepping out from them from time to time. Many workers were bustling about and heading off to their departments.
"Let's go. It shouldn't take long. Daddy will handle everything. There probably won't be a trial, but if there is, you just need to tell the truth," Joseph stated as he led the two children through the crowds and they eventually arrived at the Improper Use of Magic Office.
"Wait here, daddy will go in to talk to them first," Joseph stated.
Joseph then took a deep breathe, fixed his outfit, pushed the door open, and stepped inside. Pro waited outside in the silent hallway with the pale Hermione as he gently comforted her with words and petting.
After a while, Joseph stepped out with a smile. He took out Hermione's wand and handed it back to her while stating, "Lil Hermione, don't worry. The owl should already be sent, but you can ignore it. Everything should be fine now. Although they were a bit troublesome to deal with, they still believed in the evidence. Well, it wasn't too hard to believe anyways. It should be nigh impossible for a young witch to cast the killing curse. I left the other wizard's wand behind for them to deal with. Good job on bringing that back lil Pro, it certainly helped. If that wand was missing, there would have been no proof and things would be much more troublesome."
Breathing a sigh of relief, Pro smiled as he stroked Hermione's head, "See, everything is alright now."
Hermione nodded back with a weak smile as she tightened her grips on his hands. Pro chuckled but didn't complain. Daddy Joseph glanced at the two as he chuckled and gave Pro's hair a ruffle, "Good job lil Pro. I knew you had your daddy's genes in you. Daddy remembers the first time he played hero for your mommy, her face was beautiful ..."
"Father ... mother's face won't be beautiful when she hears about this," Pro reminded, causing daddy Joseph to go stiff.
"Yes ... I think we shouldn't tell your mommy about this, lest she worries. Your mommy is carrying your baby sister and shouldn't experience so much emotional ups and downs," Joseph affirmed before he said in a joking tone, "Daddy doesn't want to sleep on the couch."
The group laughed a bit as the mood got a bit better. Joseph smiled before he stated, "Alright, let's head back to Diagon Alley. Then, we should go home. You two needs some rest after that event."
The two nodded and follow Joseph back to the atrium. After another warning to them, Joseph stepped into the fireplace and disappeared with a whoosh. Hermione and Pro followed one after the other.
"Diagon Alley."
Whoosh. Stepping out of the fireplace, Pro had returned to the Leaky Cauldron. Hermione was already waiting for him and her hand slipped back into his hand not long after.
Returning to their neighborhood, Joseph dropped off the two children in front of Hermione's house. After telling Pro to walk back after he was done, Joseph chuckled as he drove off.
Turning towards Hermione who was staring at him, Pro couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong? Can't get enough of my handsome face?"
Hermione blushed a bit and her tiny fist gave Pro's chest a light punch. Pro chuckled and grabbed her fist to hold her hand. He gave her soft hand a rub as he stated, "Take a good rest. Everything is alright now. We'll continue our life as normal."
"Mmm."
Hermione cutely nodded as her cold hands continued to hold onto Pro's hand. After a moment of silence, Hermione locked eyes with Pro and said in a soft voice, "Thank you Pro ... for everything."
"No problem. It's what I should do."
The two continued to lock eyes as the mood became a bit ambiguous. A faint blush arose on Hermione's face as the distance between their eyes seem to grow closer ...
"Ahem."
Hermione bounced away from Pro like a frightened rabbit. Turning towards the voice, Pro saw Hermione's dad standing not far from them. Pro chuckled with a hint of embarrassment as he said, "Good afternoon Uncle Granger. Ermm ... I'll return Hermione to you then."
Hermione blushed as she picked up her bag of books. She then dashed into the house without looking back. Turning to Uncle Granger, Pro reminded him to take care of Hermione because she suffered from a shock today. Pro only mentioned some kidnappers and didn't mention the dangerous wizards, but Uncle Granger got the gist of it.
He thanked Pro and nodded with approval before stating, "Good. Good. Had I known, I wouldn't have stopped you two. Well ... next time. Haha."
Pro happily bid farewell to Uncle Granger and strolled back to his house. Pro found the worried mommy Beatrice fretting in the living room when he stepped in. Seeing this, Pro couldn't help but ask, "Mother, what's wrong?"
"Ah! My precious darling is home. Did something happen? I don't know what happened, but your daddy seems to be very angry when he got home. Joseph usually never gets angry, and it's been a long time since I've seen him like that," mommy Beatrice said in a worried tone.
"Nothing happened mother. Everything is fine. Where is father?" Pro asked.
"Upstairs in his study. He said he needed to make a call," mommy Beatrice replied.
Pro nodded and told mommy Beatrice not to worry once more. He then climbed up the stairs and headed towards the study. As he approached, Pro could already faintly hear the angry voice of his father. Although his father tried to suppress his voice, but it sometimes got a bit louder due to his emotions and Pro was able to hear some bits and pieces.
"I told you ... don't get us involved! I left and we don't have any relationships ... keep your enemies at bay, don't let them come here! What ... I don't care about what you have, give it to one of the others!"
It took a while before Pro heard his father slam the phone to cut off the call.
"Well ... I guess everyone has their troubles," Pro muttered.
The heavy sounds of footsteps came from the study room and it didn't take long for the door to be pulled open. Joseph stared down at Pro as his eyes widened in shock for a bit. He huffed to calm down a bit before whispering "What are you doing here lil Pro?"
"Mother is worried about you. She said she hasn't seen you angry in so long," Pro replied with a sigh, "You told me not to worry her, but you go and caused her to worry by yourself. Well done, father."
Daddy Joseph's lips twitched before he reached out his hands to ruffle Pro's hair, "Don't worry lil Pro. Daddy is alright. Daddy will talk to mommy and stop her from worrying. Go rest now. You should be tired from what happened. Daddy will call you down for dinner later."
Pro nodded and stepped aside to let his father pass by. Pro then returned to his bedroom to check out his gains from his escape. He didn't have time to pay attention during the escape, but Pro knew he got quests from his encounters.
