Adria is home to lush greenery and lakes. Its booming capital boasts streets lined with Merynian marble and beautiful castles. However with most of Arca's old citizens deciding to live in Adria after the revolution, there is a huge poverty problem. The peasants are spread across the countryside to labour away while the nobles feast.

The Adrian nobles are getting rich stealing children from Meryn and forcing them to work in their factories.

Meryn is an Island nation which revolves around using the sea and its life for sustenance. Ever since Adria colonized them. slavery, cruelty, and forced conscription has run rampant. Most people of Meryn hate Adria for this ( including Ariel).

Ostgrund is a Maternal warrior tribe of stoic people who pride themselves on their swordplay. They live in the cold north. Most say they are destined to win this war because their capital is at the top of a jagged mountain. It's practically impenetrable.

Nadia is Country of Magic, magicians all around the world travel to this Mecca to improve their skills. When they lost to Ostgrund, a lot of young Nadians were forced to join the military.

Mor Vangar is Uninhabited land with rumours about being the home to vengeful spirits of war.

Adria and Østgrund are the major threats as of now.

In terms of Magic...

Most people develop runes on their back at the age of 5 that tell them what their magic affinity will be. It could be fire, water, earth, wind, and lightning. People need only channel their mana (magic force everyone is born with) into these runes to use magic.

There are also special runes known as beast runes which develop on your chest . One obtains these runes by meeting a rare Mythic Beast at some point in their lives and forming a contract with it. When one "ignites" their beast rune, it causes an unrivalled boost in power and also causes them to take a stranger half beast half human form. Beast runes are rare because Mythic Beasts are very hard to find. And people who do find them hardly live to tell the tale.
