Since ancient times there have been outcasts among living beings most of which are down to genetics and upbringing and are usually chosen by natural selection. Back during the beginning of human history there was no difference except some of those outcasts made technological advancements instead of being called upon by death. Even then there were people who were shunned and killed for being too far advanced in their evolution to the point where they could kill some of the most dangerous predators with no help either from people or tools but since they were small in number they were easily put on the brink of extinction by their inferior counterparts. So they banded together to find a spot where they could live without any human threats. When they found such a spot they built a small village where their kind lived for generations under three strict rules to keep them safe and hidden. The first rule was "Do not help normal humans unless necessary for survival of the village" the second "Do not leave the village unless given permission by the head of the family" and the last and most important rule "If any child shows to have multiple traits of evolution report them to the head of the family immediately"
"And that's how our village came to be, Jonah '' grandpa said as he closed the family's history book. "But Grandpa, why is it so bad to have multiple traits of evolution? Don't you have more than one?" I asked "Well one of our first ancestors traits was foresight albeit could only see the closest future of a specific event and strained him quite a bit, after some infighting in the family he was asked by the head of the family at the time to see if those fights would destroy the village, when he used his foresight to see what the demise of the village would be he immediately started breathing heavy, collapsed and with his last bit of life he muttered 'This will not end us but something much more horrible than you could imagine will, it will be from a child with hundreds of traits he will disrupt the balance' with that warning he died no one knows if he died since it was so far into the future his body couldn't handle the kickback or if what he saw was enough to kill him that's why every child with multiple traits is checked to see if they possess the power of what he saw. And even though I have two traits I was deemed harmless to the village." grandpa answered. Now knowing that I have have the trait to copy others traits with much more strength then the original and the reason behind the rule I kept my mouth shut about my trait and copied all the family members traits until I would need them and as the day came that we test to see our traits it seemed unnecessary but since I want to be cautious I'll use one of grandpas traits his Strength boost since its harder to demonstrate his other trait durability boost.
All of the kids of the village that were twelve years old were given instruction on what to do with certain types of traits. For strength type traits we would either spar with an adult or try to crack a small brick wall. For stealth type traits we would try to sneak past adults with sharper senses. And for durability we would be hit with a small stone to see if we could protect against it. Since I was doing strength boost I decided to crack the brick wall but there were two kids before me so they set up multiple walls. The first kid barely dislodged a brick, the second cracked the wall slightly in a web pattern. When I walked up to my wall I thought I should go all out since I've never fully tested my traits. I punched the wall while activating a strength boost while I thought it would only crack a bit more than the kid before me. The wall crumbled into thousands of pieces and the straw roof hut behind it got some of its roof knocked away. As I was reeling in what just happened the adults and kids around me were shocked beyond belief. Thinking I might be taken to the village elder for having too much strength I ran. As I was running away I noticed my father and grandpa were not at the testing site and I instinctively ran to where I could sense them with my mothers trait. As I approached I heard screaming so I hid in the shadows with my uncles trait. When I got to where the yelling was coming from I saw my dad using his trait to morph his arm into a sword yelling "Mom should have never married you you're a traitor to the village who cares if there was a global war between inferior humans that's not our problem even if there struggling you do know they hid your accomplishments in the war since they were scared of you." "Of course they're scared, our existence to them is a sin." What are they talking about, grandpa went to war? "Now son please move. I at least want to see my grandson's results at the test." "No you won't be seeing that or him ever again you're right about something your existence is a sin." father said as he stabbed grandpa in the chest. Before I could think I jumped out of the shadows activating a speed boost that I got from my grandma and grandpa's strength boost dashed towards my father who couldn't even figure out what was happening and punched him in the chest about where he stabbed grandpa. As he went flying I rushed to my grandpa who was on his last leg and said to him "grandpa why would he do that?" with tears streaming down my face all he said was "I always knew it would come but for you to be here when it happens is a blessing in disguise. go to our house. In my room there will be a folder from the outside world with a list of contacts to help you and a map of where to find them." "But why grandpa?" "The village head will hear about this and learn your traits you will be executed if you stay here you must hurry go to the house and find the folder I won't make it anyway" as I started to run back my father came back with a look on his face that made me remember his second trait intimidate so I copied it and used it on him I only thought it would maybe scare him and some surrounding animals. Then a heavy pressure of fear was put on the whole village which made most of the village paralyzed. I had to be safe so I ran through the shadows to get home.
