Chereads / Bound to the Alpha King / Chapter 3 - Auction

Chapter 3 - Auction

"Look! Isn't that the guy who you bumped into earlier?" Kira announced while pointing at the guy who just took a seat at one of the VIP private room just in front of them. And Kira was directly pointing at him!

"Kira!" Aerith hissed in a low voice.

But it was too late. The man, Fenris, was already looking at them. He had a smirk on his handsome face, as if he heard them talking about him.

Gosh, what sharp hearing you have!? Aerith thought with gritted teeth.

Fenris inclined his head to them.

Aerith did the same. Let it be known that as a Fae royalty, she still have manners, despite them acting like savage warriors most of the time.

Aerith was still wearing her hood, same with the others, so her face was not that visible. So she could guessed why Fenris was looking at her intently. He was probably trying to discern what she really looked like under her hood.

Her eyes, nose, and lips and parts of half her face was more visible, but the rest of her face, mostly the upper side were hidden in the darkness of her hood. So, Fenris could probably see the bright green of her eyes, the shape of her dainty looking nose, and the curve of her pouty lips, and how high her cheekbones was, but he wouldn't be able to see the whole picture of her face due to the hood.

She frowned when she noticed him looking intently and sharply just right behind her. And when Aerith turned her head, she learned that he was staring at Alric who was just standing right behind her since he seemed so restless he couldn't sit still.

And Alric was sending irritated looks at Fenris' direction. And no one seemed to want to look away first from their staring contest.

Aerith and Kira looked at each other. Aerith rolled her eyes, while Kira grinned.

"Boys!" Aerith muttered.

Aerith heard Alric from across the balcony snorted at what she said.

She glared at him instead.

Finally, the blockhead was looking her way again. Since she has no time refereeing two bullheaded men who was acting like five year old boys. No, make it two years old. Five year olds are much mature than them.

And they were here for a mission. Distruction was a no-no.

She saw Fenris' mouth moved. "So, you can hear me even from this distance." He stated.

"So what? Stop angering my cousin!" She scolded him.

Fenris bared the side of his teeth when he grinned. It was sharper than she remembered. My my, what sharp teeth he had!

"So glad to meet your cousin. He's lucky."

Aerith raised her brow. "You're arrogant."

"You ain't seen nothing yet." He winked at her.

Aerith looked heavenward. Save her from arrogant men, supernatural species or whatever being Fenris was. But with the name Fenris, he's probably a shifter. With sharp teeth and sharp hearing. And yeah, almost a lot of beings with that ability comes in many forms.

"If that's an innuendo of some sort, I'm not interested." She hissed at him.

Fenris raised a brow with playfulness.

"Behave."

Fenris chuckled.

While behind her, his cousin snorted, "Are you seriously talking to that barbarian?"

"Don't worry about it cousin. I just don't want to add another complication to this day if I can help it. We're here for a reason." Aerith told Alric. She was speaking in lower volume than normal, so that Fenris won't hear it. "And lower your voice, he has a sharp hearing."

"I guessed that by the way you keep flirting with him."

Aerith eyed her cousin like he's gone mad. "You're imagining things."

"Go deny it however you want. Let's focus on why we're here."

Aerith didn't argue. Alric was right. But he's wrong too, she was not flirting.

"I'm not flirting." She stated.

"You so are." Kira said with an amused grin.

Aerith glared at Kira.

Kira was not paced. She just grinned wider. "Chill. The auction is about to start."

And just like Kira said, the host of the auction walked out on the stage and stood on the podium in front of the microphone. He was facing the beings who was sitting at the first floor facing the stage.

The host was in human form, but he had a horn, pointed ears, and sharp teeth. He was wearing a red suit, with black bow and shoes. He had a red and black top hat. Either he's some kind of lower being fae like selkies, a were something, or a demon type variant. It was the horn and the pointy ears that was misleading.

Or maybe he was a shapeshifter who can manipulate his looks. Aerith narrowed her eyes, then that was more tricky. She was already calculating in her mind how hard or easy she could kill him if it comes down to it.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I won't say any long introduction, I know you're all eager to bid for the items you wanted, so without further adieu, let's get started right away!" The host said.

A female staff with sexy figure wearing skimpy black clothes and red heels, with sharp forked tail behind her. She brought a covered rolling table covered in black cloth.

The woman was either a dragon or demon. Probably the host, too. Aerith thought again.

The host took the cloth away from the glass it was covering on top of the rolling table. Inside the glass was a small vial of red... Blood? It has a flaming aura. It was literally releasing smokes.

"This is a vial of a phoenix blood. One drop and you'll be healed, re-energized, or revitalized. As long as your body didn't stop breathing yet, then you can have a second chance in life. And the bidding start at 1000 diamonds." The host said.

"1100 diamonds!" One bidder said after he jabbed at the button for bidding that was given to them. The button lets the audience see the bidder's bidding number, it was also the same number of where the bidder was located and sitting.

"1500 diamonds!"

"3000 diamonds!"

"5000 diamonds!"

"10, 000 diamonds!

"50,000 diamonds!

The bidding went higher and higher, Aerith wished it would end soon!

100, 000 diamonds!" One woman said near the end of the seats on the first floor.

No one bothered to bid against her, they don't want to bid higher since it was just the first item. There was still more item they could bid on.

Finally! Aerith thought after seeing the blood of phoenix was being rolled off, and then another cart was rolled on stage.

The host took the cover from the box glass. "And now here we have a golden dragon's egg!"

Aerith perked up. A dragon?! And a golden at that!

Dragon's are myths of the myths. They're almost nonexistent since no one ever saw their kinds in like hundreds or thousands of years, and now this auction house has a golden dragon egg?!!

"The bid starts at 10,000 diamonds!" The host said.

"50,000 diamonds! " the same woman who bought the phoenix blood declared. She was probably a witch.

"100, 000 diamonds!"

"120, 000 diamonds!"

"150, 000 diamonds!" The woman said.

"160, 000 diamonds!"

"180,000 diamonds!"

There was no other bidder. The host was about to close the bidding when...

"300,000 diamonds!" Aerith declared. Her musical but firm voice echoed around the theater-like auction house.

She heard the woman sniffed in annoyance.

Aerith smiled when she knew the woman won't bid against her anymore.

"Do you want to eat a dragon's egg? Then we need seasonings and a larger cooking pan or cauldron. That egg was huge!" Kira exclaimed.

Aerith glared at Kira. "I wouldn't spend that much diamonds if I'm only gonna eat it, Kira."

"Then what are you gonna do with it?"

Aerith rolled her eyes. "I'll wait for it to hatch and grow, then I can have my own flying dragon that can take me from one place to another while I sit and relax!" She declared.

Kira made a face. "You want a dragon for a transportation?"

"Yeah! I saw it on Game of Thrones!"

Kira rolled her eyes.

They were interrupted when the host was speaking again as he took off the cover from a small cage. "Now we have a wolf cub!"

Aerith was surprised and sat straight forward. She noticed the dangerous aura that Fenris was emanating even from the other side of the balcony. Was he and his comrades here for the wolf cub?

Aerith looked at the wolf cub inside the cage. It has a white felt with dots of black on one of its ears, the center of its head, neck and front foot. It was mewling and shaking a bit while its brown eyes looked around the crowd. The cub was small and scared. He was probably only two or three years old.

If Fenris was here to get the wolf cub, she hoped they would succeed. If not, she would help him, after all, the witch woman seemed so determined to get a live being on this auction. Probably to be her familiar.

"The bidding starts at 50,000 gold!" The host declared.

Some beings from the first floor deflated. Most of them brought diamonds and other gem stones, while others lack that many gold bars.

Aerith looked across from her. It seemed Fenris was preprared for this outcome.

"100, 000 gold!" Fenris declared.

"150, 000 gold!" The witch said in a loud voice.

"300, 000 gold!" Another man bidded.

"500, 000 gold!" Fenris roared.

"550, 000 gold!" the witch said.

Aerith was getting restless, even if she was not part of this bidding. She really wished Fenris got what they came here for. She could hear the wolf cub mewling louder as it heard Fenris' voice.

So, Aerith could guess that Fenris was a lycan. And he was fixated on her. Hmn...

She looked thoughtful.

"650, 000 gold!" Another huge man with lots of jewelry's stated.

"800, 000 gold!" Fenris declared again.

"1,000,000 gold!" The witch said.

"1, 500, 000 gold!" Febris yelled.

While Kira was about ready to tear her hair out. This bidding was taking forever and no one wanted to give up. "I swear I'll start killing if this goes on!" She declared.

The bid goes on back and forth until Fenris declared, "5, 000, 000 gold!"

And everyone shut the fuck up!

The cub was sold to Fenris.

"If he'll bid that much he should have said so. That way he'll win instantly." Kira muttered.

"He's testing the waters. If he could get the cub at a lower bid first, also to see how much the competition would out bid him." Aerith told Kira.

Kira then nodded in understanding.

The others bid on the items brought out, until they reached the near end of the auction.

"And now, we have a mother and child Fae on auction!" The host declared.

The bidders roared to life and anticipation.

Ellie and Avery were tugged by the chains on their hands by two male guards. They looked unkempt and not being fed well.

Aerith was seeing red, while she could feel Alric and Kira seething with rage next to her.

The humiliation and degradation these assholes put the Fae royalties!

They were all gonna pay and die! Aerith promised.

"The bidding starts with 100,000 gold!" The host said.

"1, 000, 000 gold!" Aerith declared.

The other gasped at the very high first bid for the faes.

Ellie looked up to the balcony. She recognized her sister's voice. Aerith saw anger and determination on her sister's eyes. Good, her warrior spirit was still alive and not cowed.

"1, 500, 000 gold!" The big man with jewelries crowed. His eyes full of greed and lust. Everyone knew Fae has lots of magic.

"2, 000, 000 gold!" The witch said.

"3, 000, 000 gold!" An old warlock looking man said.

"100, 000, 000 gold!" Aerith said again in a loud voice.

The bidders gasped.

"100, 000, 500 gold!" The witch said in her last effort to bid.

"100, 100, 000 gold!" The old warlock said.

"100, 200, 000 gold!" The huge guy said.

"500, 000, 000 gold, 100, 000 diamonds, 50, 000 rubies, and if anyone dares to bid against me, I'll kill you just the same, I'll get the price in the end!" Aerith declared impatiently and angrily.

She heard Fenris laughed in amusement. She glared at him, Fenris inclined his head to her, his eyes twinkling.

The damn lycan was so amused! Hah!

While the audience shut up. The host blinked several times. And the other bidders looked annoyed, scared and one with defiance.

Guess there'll be blood spilling this night!
