Chapter 3 - Extinction of the Human Race

Upon arriving at the security office, Sima and Luqi handed Yu Yezi over to their female colleague Meilan to undergo various tests.

Before the test began, Meilan briefly explained the basics that Yu Yezi needed to know.

The origin of interstellar life, starting from a virus outbreak that spread south of the nameless bay. News stated that there was an institution that was established illegally. The institution researched a drug that was intended as a muscle strengthener in preparation for war. The drug was tested by a researcher on his own body. His compatriots noted that the success of the drug in strengthening ordinary human muscles was 5 times without exercise within a week.

Due to time constraints, they immediately injected the drug into young soldiers who were suddenly recruited to be sent to the battlefield. As a result, within 1 month after the injection, the strengthened muscles formed a new antibody structure in the body that attacked red blood cells. This caused many white blood cells to then cross-marry with the new antibodies and suddenly decreased the body's nerve function. This decrease in nerves resulted in severe organ failure within 1 hour. Then 1 hour later, the person has turned into a corpse that groans and wants to eat fresh meat.

Most people call it a zombie.

Zombie scratches and bites cause the virus to spread throughout the world. The world is in ruins. All life on earth stops as humans struggle to survive and kill zombies. Zombies are hard to kill. Cutting off hands or feet cannot kill them. Only beheading can destroy them. The longer humans survive, the more zombies are created. Zombies rule and humans are helpless. Until finally the government stated that they had created a spaceship and intended to take surviving humans across the galaxy to find a new place to live.

Only less than 1 million humans remain, some animals and plants that can be saved.

In the galaxy, humans meet several races. Among them are animal and plant races that can transform into humans. And other races whose existence is found very rarely.

Humans settled on a small planet called Mad. A planet that is entirely dry land like Mars. When humans began their history of survival in interstellar space, they had to face the fact that the gravity of Planet Mad was 1/3 of the moon, Earth's satellite. Oxygen is limited and human feet cannot step on it. The adaptation that must be done is to cultivate as many plants as possible and provide weights on the soles of each shoe.

They started from a small area. Planting plants directly on the planet's plain soil, giving the planet's plain soil into existing plant pots for adaptation, and starting research to plant using the planet's plain soil as the basis for plant growth media from seeds. After many trials and failures, they succeeded in creating a new plant species that grew and could produce oxygen.

When the plant began to grow and grow, they realized something strange. The plant liked to sway and sometimes hum, had a strange shape, and was larger than it should have been. Further research was conducted, and it was discovered that there was a mutation in the plant due to the energy in the atmosphere causing deviations when the plant grew. This energy was collected and condensed. Its form resembles shiny black glass fragments. This energy is called violent energy.

Another study is conduct by isolating the plant from violent energy directly, by creating a large insolation space like the oxygen mask that humans have been wearing to maintain survival, and it worked. After expanding the planting, humans realized something else fatal had happened.

So far, humans have survived by wearing headgear connected to an oxygen supply tube. In order to save oxygen supplies for many people, they sometimes remove their headgear. They only pay attention to the oxygen supply to be inhaled and do not see the condition of their bodies which are directly exposed to the atmosphere without protection. Their bodies change shape to become wrinkled and shrink tightly to the bones, looking like malnourished people with big heads.

From the exchange of information between races that they do, other races can live well without any help like them. The research was continued and reached a quick conclusion. Humans do not have genes from other races and cannot steal to get genes because it is innate. Therefore, the idea arose to continue the generation by intermarrying between races. Until the creation of human and another race that can survive without the need for oxygen tubes.

They are determined to continue the research so that pure humans can survive in this interstellar world. They succeeded. However, humans are few and have close genealogy. Intermarriage that is too close to the genealogy will cause defects so that the pure human race has become extinct 1 million years ago.
