Amaya POV
I could still feel the pain as I woke up. I felt like I wanted to die, but Ares my wolf wouldn't let me. She forced me to hold on to life, to try and wake up.
Around me, I could hear the voices of the doctors and nurses as they tried their best to wake me back up.
"Amaya, please wake up." I heard Merrick plead. "Amaya, you need to wake up."
'My mate is gone, why do I have to wake up?' I asked myself. I felt no reason to open my eyes and keep living.
I knew that once one's mate died you could never be complete again.
I felt myself slipping back into the darkness, floating through nothingness, I was at peace.
'Amaya you need to fight!' I heard my wolf command me.
'Shouldn't you be the one pulling me to the grave, not the other way around?' I teased Ares.
I couldn't see her clearly, she was a blur, she seemed to be fading, vanishing, dying.
