"I need to know." I told my brother as I made up my mind. "I need to know not just because he was my mate, but also because he was a fellow original Alpha that fell at the hands of our attackers."
Merrick frowns as he assesses my condition. It is clear that I am far from fine, it was expected, but as an Alpha I needed to be above what others were capable of.
"Merrick, I'm not as weak as you think I am." I practically growled at my brother. I could feel a new kind of power behind my voice, clearly it was the strength of being an Alpha.
"I never considered you to be weak, Amaya." Merrick said as he shook his head. "You are far from weak. You just lost your mate and our father in one day, you are not weak."
I nodded at my brother and closed my eyes.
"Then let me do my job." I told him.
'We can always command everyone to let us work.' Ares suggested.
'That's not leading.' I reminded my wolf.
