A long sigh left the youths mouth. "This semester was a grind, but next is gonna be even harder..", Malford the sighing youth said. Malford is the most average college student you could imagine. Well except his looks. His blond hair, blue eyes and slender body was one thing, but his pale skin and defined muscles made him even more attractive.
Sometimes he wondered about how handsome he looks. On one hand his looks are a good thing, the professor for literature, a young woman probably in her mid thirties and a remarkable professor, gave him a passing grade when he himself thought he wasn't passing. And sometimes there's this - *bump* Malford bumped into a rugby player. A big one at that. The captain of the senior Rugby league of Yttland University, Scott.
Scott has a really wide frame, his arms are as wide as logs and his grumpy face makes him not more comfortable to look at. Additionally he's one of the guys that stir up trouble at every new corner.
And guess who bumped into him? The scrawny-only-looks- Malford. "I-I-I'm sorry, Sir", poor Malforf mumbled. It wasn't loud but loud enough to be barely heard. Scott enjoyed this moment. Scott doesnt really look "good". Well maybe he does, but compared to someone handsome, like Malford, a good looking person becomes a frog.
Scott immediately toyed with the idea to beat Malford to a pulp and ruin his oh so handsome face. But he couldn't. The coach said to him, that if he'd stir up trouble again, he'd be out of the team. And Scott had to held back. He pushed Malford to the ground, clicked his tongue and went his way.
Well, that's what Scott's perspective was, but our poor Malford landed in a mud pool filled with some stones. It scraped his arm and shoulder and ruined his clothes. "What a great start to my day. It's what, 9 a.m and my clothes are ruined already?", he sighed again and went to the nearest infirmary.
After the lectures Malford studied some more in the building next to the lecture hall, the library. It wasn't the great library or anything but the faculty library. Meaning that any relevant information regarding his subject, Biology, would be here. Unlike his first attempt with literature, or his second attempt with politic science Malford finally found something he's good in and passionate about.
His grandmother instructed him to become an author or politician to maybe change the pain families like his had to endure, but he wasn't good at either of them. And the grandmother, despite forcing her grandson to study nearly 2.5 years different fields, let him explore what he wanted. He chose biology first as a joke.
His friend, Man Singh Jr., an Indian guy with a lot of passion for the field, talked him into it. But seemingly out of nowhere he excelled in biology. Even his peers were impressed, no shocked. The professor didn't know him before, but now near his master class and graduation, he was always called upon when no student knew the answer or someone said something wrong.
Unsurprisingly, this made the men listening on the lecture even more jealous. A good looking youth, who nearly knows it all and is the professor's pet? This can't be left unpunished, most thought. And so Malford's life became hell, yet again.
After Malford prepared his today's work for his Master paper to showcase the use of trees as aqueducts, their effectiveness and efficiency, as well as a design with it, which is nearly finished, he went home at evening again. Malford counted on his fingers what was left to do.
"Organizing the thesis, bringing relevant materials and incorporate the diagrams and studies, talking with the uncle from America and managing a presentation. I should be done after this week. Hm?", what startled the young man was startling indeed. Scott was back with his friends, now that uni lecturers were over his coach wouldn't know, Scott thought. Why Scott behaved so cliché is not well known, but deep down, maybe he is jealous too, or just annoyed?
Anyways, the friends of Scoot surrounded him, and Scott got the perfect opportunity to beat all life out of Malford. But Malford tried to run away, even when encircled. Luckily, his legs could reach some people when he tried to jump and he flattened them, despite being so light. But being jumped on by a tall guy means it's quite hard to remain standing. It were two people backed by more rugby players.
But this left the circle with a hole, a crucial point of escape! Malford ran as quickly as his legs could carry. Even over streets and red lights, until - BAM! He hit a truck.
And the remaining rugby players fled from the scene. Authorities were alarmed, but this looked like suicide. After all, a man ran into a truck with seemingly no goal and super fast too- yep, a suicide, the police concluded. And the grandmother was all alone now.
But a certain goddess didn't like the end of the handsome and poor Malford.
For her the tale left a bad taste in her mouth, as if you just finished your favorite book, but it had an out of nowhere sad ending. The goddess asked the overseer to return the favor, after creating two humans in their world, Adam and Eve. "But he cannot be human again, you hear me?", he replied. The goddess nodded her head and left. After summoning the soul of Malford Jørgenson, she examined him. But Malford couldn't realize what just happened. He remembered running away from Scott and his friends but now he's before the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He couldn't really see her face too well, because some light made it impossible to see her.
Funnily enough, said light was the goddess divinity blocking him from seeing too much out of consideration. After all a mortal couldn't withstand seeing a deity in their true form. Malford was flustered by the beauty and blushed deeply without knowing. Her long and golden hair as well as her white dress, ensured that even if you don't know, you could assume something devine was in front of him. Malford asked "Uhm, excuse me Madam, or Angel or…-", a heavenly voice with a very melodic tone almost as if the words were sung, replied "I'm the goddess who summoned you. I am not part of your world, but you will be part of mine. Your life got a quick end, don't you think so too? If you agree I'll send you to my world and you can live there again." This left Malford with an open mouth. This divine creature was not just a mere angel, but a goddess. And after that, another shock struck him. He really died on earth. It felt like he could have died, because the pain was so intense, but he really actually died. He tried processing this, but like a computer his brain was overloaded with information and trying to process it quickly for now and he zoned out.
The goddess dispelled all unnecessary thoughts with a simple snap of her fingers and he was back again. Her voice was again in this sweet melody like tone and said, "Oh my, are you back Malford? I was worried you'd take it bad, but from your thoughts you're much better at handling this than anyone I've met before". This was nice and all after all he could live again, but she didn't mention anything about the reincarnation except living in her world. She didn't say what this meant for him. Would he be left in a world of vulcanoes? Or maybe a world where humans couldn't breathe? Or maybe he would get reincarnated as a chicken or some other cattle? He hoped to live as a human again. But before he could mustur the courage, the goddess said "No you can't live as a human again. Sadly, those are the rules. But if you agree, I will give you a body that can protect itself. It will be resistant to most attacks, living up to a thousand years isn't uncommon and having close to no predators is a given. This way you can get a long life you deserve, don't you think so too?"
Despite not being able to live like a human, he just got offered perks outshining humans. The biology major smirked and offered his hand, he said " Goddess, I thank you for this offer from the bottom of my heart. I agree with living in your world". The goddess, who's now smiling too, briefly shook his hand and sent him on his way.
And this was how Malford got reincarnated. But somehow he felt weird now after arriving in this world. He couldn't see, hear, speak, smell nor taste. But he could feel. And he could feel many things. He felt like being surrounded by beds and pillows. He didn't know if it's warm or cold, but he felt comfortable. At least for a short period of time, except having almost no senses, he can't move!
He tried shouting, but he couldn't speak. He cursed the goddess for tricking him into this useless body, when he just wanted to know what he had become. He tried exclaiming something in his mind. He thought maybe he got a skill from the goddess or something, but to no avail.
He remembered reading some reincarnation stories where someone magically called forth a system and became undefeated. So he tried to think of any words "System, Control Panel, Touch Pad,…", but something was off. It didn't feel like there was nothing. It felt like he had a key and a lock, but the key was just wrong. It felt like a door was to open if he thought of the right word. "What do they say in games?", he thought. "When you normally make a game character there is a window where you can distrusbute points to strengthen certain traits of said character", he remembered. "But what was it called? Hm…, Ah finally! Status Window!". The two words filled his head and he could hear some whirring sounds when a computer normally boots up. He then saw a blueish field in from of his mind's eye. There he could read the following:

"WHAT?!?!? I'm a seeddd?!?!?", Malford exclaimed. Apparently his unlucky days weren't over yet…
