HENRIQUE WAS RELEASED by the paramedics, nothing serious had happened to him, just a few abrasions, they would do some more detailed exams later, but at that moment they had to unravel that mystery.
–– HOW GOOD THEY CAME – said Henrique – I think I know what the number my grandfather left written before he died.
Sandro and Bernardo carefully followed each word spoken by Henrique.
–– My grandfather always said that the date of my birth was a very special date, he kept saying that I represented perfection.
–– And what does this have to do with Phi? - Palmeira said.
–– I think I understood Henrique's reasoning, Phi is considered the numerical sequence of God's perfection.
–– AND?
–– And... that Henrique was born on the 16th of November 1988 (16/11/88), 1.6 2x 18, it was so simple that not even the great Sandro Palmeira could find out.
–– But it remains illogical, Bernardo.
–– Not so much, the 1.6 2x 18 would be a simple reference that only his grandson would understand, something that his grandfather would have said to him if Henrique died, his secrets would remain safe, better lost than in the wrong hands.
HENRIQUE, BERNARDO AND SANDRO went to the Cardeñas house and searched the whole house thoroughly, no corner of the house was forgotten.
The three stayed in the library thinking about something else, but they were all exhausted from the crazy days they were having, and that defeat was hurting much more than their tired bodies.
Henrique in a fury threw everything that was on the table to the floor on the table too, leaving her with her legs up, almost caught Sandro.
The three were happy when they turned the table upside down.
Under the table was a secret drawer, and its lock was a six-digit number string. The three looked at each other and said at the same time:
–– The date of birth.
Henrique stepped forward and put his birthday date in order, for two seconds nothing happened, until the lock opened showing a diary in a plastic bag, and the book, which was very old.
WE WERE FOUR together again, after three thousand years of waiting, but destiny – or God – would make us complete our mission again - entrusted to us since we were born.
Me, Willian de Rillencourt, Hugo di Payens, Godofredo de Saint – Omer and Rayen de Montidier together, the four heirs of the divine mission to protect the Ark and its sacred items.
"The tablets of the law, Aaron's staff and the pot with Manna that our ancestors ate in the desert..."
At first, we all thought we would be able to complete our mission, that of finding the Ark of the Covenant, we were all very anxious for this, but when we arrived in Jerusalem, everything was against our mission.
We started digging and for many months we found absolutely nothing.
Nine years passed before we found anything more.
Our spiritual parents always told us about the great riches that Jeremiah would have hidden and left Daniel the key to the mystery, but the more we tried to search, the more we were disappointed, there was nothing but a bunch of trinkets, cheap trinkets, even that by the will of our Lord, we found some hidden scrolls.
The scrolls were maps of some tunnels where Jews stayed in times of war, and Jeremiah used them to remove the Ark of the Covenant from Jerusalem in the last moments, as he was imprisoned at the time of the Babylonian invasion, his apprentice was in charge, however, four the princes of the house of David had been set aside for this mission before the city was taken, Daniel, Hananiah, Misael and Azariah (also known under the pseudonyms of Beltesshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed – Nego), men of the highest priestly classes.
The four men hid the three items plus the ark itself before being made slaves by the Babylonians, promising that no one would ever use it again, and so it was.
We found the ark, however, there was nothing inside it, we made a map of the exact location and abandoned the mission for a single purpose:
To protect the most sacred object in history.
As priests, we decided to take a vow with our God, that we would never take any wife as wife, our ancestral guardians were eunuchs, and we should be so.
Our mother church did not accept our wishes at first, all the bishops and priests were married and had family, the first Pope himself, Peter, was also, but we had the sacred mission of keeping the Ark of the Lord.
I leave to our posterity the legacy of keeping the most valuable object in history, because I know that if it falls into the wrong hands, countless nations will succumb to its power and glory.
We agreed not to speak to anyone, not even among ourselves we talked about the places where our parents hid Manna, the Tables and the Staff, we just fulfilled our call.
However, this will be one of the last times anyone will hear that name, Willian de Rillencourt...
