It was graduation time and everyone was taking their time to take pictures. Emilia was standing with her friends chatting and remembering their time in college. When it was about their crush, she couldn't help but click her tongue to stop herself from saying his name.
"Emilia, don't you have a crush as well? We are graduates today and it will be our last day in this school!" her one friend told her.
"Don't bother. There wasn't anyone in my mind…"
"Pft. Who believes that?!" Another friend exclaimed at her. "Most of the students here are males and the few in the population are female. There should be one or two!"
Emilia didn't speak. Yes, she has a crush but it wasn't just anyone. Her blushing cheeks showed up while looking down. No, she can't say it. She can't tell him that nor tell her friends about him. She knows that it's their last day. Instead, she won't tell his name but rather...
"So, who is it? Who is that person that's making you blush right now?"
"Can I tell you a story? I will not say his name but I will tell you something about how I like him."
Emilia remembers the time when she was freshman and that was the time that she's awkward and shy. She doesn't know anyone nor does she have a classmate that goes to this school as well. With her awkwardness and clumsiness taking over her, she lost her ID that time in the cafeteria. She forgot where she put it.
"And then?"
"A handsome guy approached me at that time. He handed me my missing ID card with a warm smile. That time, I thought I lost it forever. I was glad that he found it for me."
"Handsome? How handsome? Is he more handsome than the bad boy of our school?"
Emilia chuckled. "He's handsome, more handsome than Jake. He's charming and his voice can melt your soul."
"Did you catch his name that time?"
She shook her head.
"Pity."
She continued her story. She met him again in the cafeteria. This time he's in the corner and not one soul can see him. Only her.
Seeing that every table was full, she picked up her tray and tapped on his table. "Hey, um… Can I share with you? All the tables were full."
The man was stunned and quickly nodded. He's silent but you can feel his warm soul just looking at you. Emilia sat opposite to him to get a good view of him, however her shy temperament made her unable to take a look at him for another time. Her cream stew tasted very sweet and sour. She doesn't even know why it tasted slightly sour. She thanked him before he left their table.
"You only ate with him at the table?! Is there any conversation involved?" Emilia's friend asked again.
"There wasn't. We only ate and left."
"Emilia! That was a good chance but you missed it!" Another friend told her. "If I were you, I would ask his name and course. Even ask for his phone number too!"
"I don't have that kind of courage like you guys. I'm just a new college student with shyness deep into my bones."
"And are there any encounters after that?"
Emilia shook her head once again. She lied. There was… it was when she was a sophomore when she learned that the handsome young man she had a crush on freshman was her professor in one of her classes.
He was her teacher and she's his student.
Every time she goes to his class, she always wants to skip it and say she's sick. However, she can't just go on like that or the money that her parents paid for her college will be wasted on nothing. The only thing she could do was gather up her remaining courage and step inside his classroom.
Far from his board and desk, she feels at peace. But when their eyes meet… BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! That was when her heart went into rapid toss. The drums in her heart went wild, unable to stop. She hides her face from him, trying to erase the red blush from her face. It was crazy ride like a rollercoaster in twists and turns.
Many people like him. Other than his good teachings, his looks were enough to make the girls in the class be attentive and dreamed about him. He's near but he's unreachable. Everyone wants to see him everyday. In matter of fact, she's one of them.
Every night, she dreams of confessing to him. Telling him that she likes him. Telling him that the first time they met, she was dumbstruck. She became stupid and fell over his warmth. How she wanted to hold his hand for a second or how she wanted to cook him some lunch box for his overnights.
It made her crazily blushed until her senior year. She was able to control herself and tried to forget the teacher she's crushing on. In reality, she wasn't able to forget about him in her heart and mind.
Now, she can see him far away, standing in the mass of people. His presence was covered by the corners of the place. Her smile deepened as she knew that he had done this since before.
Should she confess now? She's scared, yes. She knew that she'll be rejected but... who knows? right? Should she say it? There's no time now. This is her last chance. What if she's scared of what will happen next?
If it was you…
Maybe she can try.
She stepped forward in front of him while fidgeting on her graduation cap. "S-sir! Can we talk? I have something to say to you."
The handsome man was shocked and nodded when he saw the shy student that he had met before in his subject came forward. The girl grinned at him and saw that this girl wanted to tell him something. His heart was excited and sees that maybe this girl will tell him something import- It made everything stop.
"Sir, I...I like you."
